They were doing road works and found a 500kg undetonated ww2 bomb about 300 meters from my house. Police have the whole area quarantined off and they've got mine sweepers working on it right now. Just wanted to mention that so that if I suddenly stop posting here and answering icq's, that's what happened

It's tough to say. The area I live in used to be part of east germany (Breslau/Wrocław), so it might be ally, german, or even russian

I'll probably be ok, it's all farm field between me and the bomb except an overpass, so if anything the overpass will get fucked up but absord the hit.

yeah but duds can be even more dangerous because theres a number of reasons why it didn't go off. If the reason was it just missed the contact feature by a centimetre or less and they start moving it around... hehe

I'm pretty sure they disarm it on the spot and then take it away. I doubt disarming it is too difficult (albiet dangerous). A bomb like this doesn't need any sort of anti-tampering type stuff, and i'm sure everything is rusted to shit.

This kind of stuff happens all the time. WW2 was so massive and there was so much destruction involved that they'll be finding stuff for the next hundred years. I read a while back they were building something in Berlin and they discovered an unknown secret bunker. Also yesterday it was announced they found an old German WW2 bomber off the coast of England in pristine condition. Amazing stuff.

I'm still wondering where most of the loot went. There was so much unaccounted for, and I'm guessing it's buried in some cave or bunker.

A friend of mine used to live in this house when he was a kid, and after a while they moved out and his dad sold it. The guy who bought it a few years later was doign some kind of renovations, took down a wall and found something like 8 million euros worth of treasure.
