Crazy Idea I've Have... Thoughts?
I've been pondering on an idea for a while now and wanted to get some feedback...
Some of you are experts in a certain field, others... pretend you are. Lets say for example SEO. Now some might work as a consultant, others work for a company, and some have a small business or do it on the side. Besides reading blogs and articles from other "experts" would you find it worthwhile to join a forum (free of course) that only allowed in experts in your field so you wouldn't get nagging noobs wanting help or people who did not know what they were talking about posting random shit? In my area of expertise, I often find myself reading blogs and articles from other "experts" who are wrong or what they just posted is out of date and no longer valid. On forums I find there is maybe 1 in 10,000 that has more than basic knowledge and dont want to spend my time giving advice instead of learning. At the end of the day, would it be of any value to have a place to go and chat with other people of your caliber?

Yes It would be nice but a board like that wouldn't exactly be crowded with people.

the problem with that is there is always new and better ways to do things, if you don't let the new people in you deprive yourself of any growth or new ideas...
haha experts forum where its 5 people in a thread all agreeing with each other until the money runs out...

however, thinking about it after there was some good points that were brought up. Just like in practicing medicine, things change but if you associate with other doctors, you may see things differently. ![]()

And how exactly do you plan to execute that idea?
Personally, no, I wouldn't use it. If I was investment advice, I'll call an investment firm like Edward Jones. If I want medical advice, I'll goto my doctor. And so on...

An adult based linkedin type of site would be pretty nifty. Let them choose their friends and add that friends network, etc.
If you could find a script that worked somewhat like google analytics or webmaster tools where they can import a random code or text file to their domain for verification, that would be sweet as well. My advice is probably overkill but I spend most of my life with my head in the clouds. A linked in type of site with google like verification would rock. I'm an affiliate though, so I probably wouldn't be allowed in lol ={. Good luck if you choose to do it, sounds like a fun project. |
