I have been extremely tense lately for some odd reason and I can't figure out why. It's driving me crazy and really hurting my productivity.

Any suggestions on what I could do to help relax and take away some stress?

Drugs are not an option.

I just finished a session of "free writing". It seemed to help a bit. Let me open up and express some of the ideas that were running through my head. Problem is, I got bored after 5 minutes and stopped. The couple paragraphs I wrote DID help though.

I'm about to pull out the alcohol... always helps of course and makes for a good time. But I'm looking for more of a permanent solution or a daily routine I can get into that will help relieve the overall stress. And no, I'm not going to sit around all day drunk off my ass.

I can't be the only one with this problem. Share your ideas with the rest of the GFY crowd!

i have been blessed with insomnia and hyper activity.

most of the time im standing when i type.

i smoke herbs to chill the fuck out.

i cant eat sugar (nor do I want to) and I dont injest caffeine (again why would I want to?)

even now both legs are bobbin as I type, i dont stop mivin.

its bad for the soul....

I agree that smooth jazz helps.

Bodies of water are a must if you are close to them. Going to them will help clear your head and calm you down.

Getting away from the computer is also a good thing.

Go try to make your girl smile. That helps.

I like to bike as well.
Kinda too cold right now but if the weather is nice I bike 10 or 20 miles and it helps ya forget about work for a bit.

Free writing is great. The more you do it, the better you will become, and the longer you will be able to write. It's amazing how much you can write in a 20, 30, 45 minute period without realizing the time that has past.

Another suggestion I'd strongly suggest you look into is meditiation. Even simple breathing excercises are a simple form of meditation, and are not also good for the mind, but also the body. Also a great way of taking 'power naps' and being able to 'wake up' whenever you want.
