Content Removal Companies
I have always been curious about how content removal sites / companies can be so determined to stop piracy and illegal use of content, when it's that very monster that keeps them in business. No content to remove, no content removal company.
They must welcome the business no? |

There's a certain content removal company that seems to have no idea about the difference between legit affiliates and content thieves that has annoyed the fucking piss out of me and my host over the years. lol

How are we to know if their intentions are honorable when they charge a fee for helping remove stolen content? Do they truly care about helping people, or is constantly voicing their public dislike for thieves simply advertising?
Are they willing to help for free? I am. |

Are content removal services hell bent on removing stolen content in hopes of one day waking up to a theft free internet because it is a passion of theirs? Could be, I'm just curious.

It's called time. One thief dies another is born. The companies who do content removal, imo, opinion, will always have market because of this one factor. I am sure there are many more factors as well.

It wouldn't bother me if one day my earnings from content removal vaporized because I earn most of my income from regular membership sites.
I police the crap out of my content and used to send competing sites a heads up if their material was being shared. But to be honest, over time, it gets frustrating to do their job for free. So now I charge a very resonable rate to do it for them. To this day, it surprizes me how many webmasters know that their material is being shared, the sites where its happening and still don't get the links removed.......that free porn mountain is attractive to sharers because so many webbies don't care.

Its hard to answer that because without being a customer of those services I can't comment. Anyone could claim that they're better than XYZ service but lets be honest until you're a customer its unprovable.
IMO, Content removal is a pretty simple beast ....know your clients content, learn/know the places it gets shared and relentlessly police those places for removals. I think knowing a clients content is actually the hardest part and it gets progressively more difficult as your portfolio of clients expands and their content diversity increases. It wouldn't be easy to learn every market (teen, asian, gay, tranny milf, etc etc) and all of the individual sites/prodcers content (by sight).....especially in an age where watermarks get removed and uploaders mask the contents description. In addition there are very specific places where different content is shared and a broad portfolio of clients (for me at least) would mean having to join and search hundreds of forums. Therefore, I limit myself to micro niche and know the market inside and out. That way I can join all the relevant forums etc and police them accurately, which in turn means I don't miss anything for my clients and its time effective. As for finding the material, I personally prefer the down and dirty approach....that basically means I'm in all their forums/blogs/imagedumps/message boards etc etc and checking the posts manually for removals, in addition to worming my way into their group. I'll follow any relevant nugget of information in the hopes a name is found and sooner or later I'll have a dosseir going and find my target ;) Thats just the way I personally do it.....I do like my sleuthing

I have worked with both Eric and Nate on numerous ocassions, particularly Eric but I can say with absolute certainty that BOTH of these guys would love to see an end to piracy, that is what separates them from the ones who prefer to work "with" the thieves.
I do not give my recommendations to just anyone and I believe both of these guys to be absolutely honest and above reproach.

I do content removal as a labor of love for my clients, many of which are people I've known for years and years. I don't want to be doing this three years from now. One of my clients asked me "you realize if you're really good at this, you'll put yourself out of a job?" My response: "That would be awesome."
I know Eric @ RYC is a true-believer in the good fight as well, neither one of our companies is in this to get wealthy. And to your "would they do it for free" question, well yes and no. There are plenty of people I've helped out for free. However, what I do is a 16 hour day, I'd be an idiot not to charge people a reasonable rate for my time and effort. Studios can always decide to do it in-house but my clients are glad to pay my rate because it makes more sense for them. But I know both Eric and I have helped each other when we find content from each other's clients and we've worked together on certain sites where we can work combine our efforts. There are certainly companies that are in this to bilk studios out of money and are in bed with the content thieves - RemoveYourContent and TakedownPiracy are not among them. nate at takedownpiracy dot com

Farmers pray for rain (although it can be disruptive), Adult Webmasters pray for perverts (although they can be disruptive), so I was just curious if Companies like RemoveYourContent pray for illegal content (although it can be disruptive).
Thanks for the insight |

I don't believe you need to pay someone to remove something that wasn't there. Obviously, you could post a link to where your files have been removed to show you aren't lying. |

Fuck off trolling another serious thread, you complete & utter fucking moron First, a person who says "well" this or "well" that, is a snotty uptight twat. Second, why would I need to prove Ive had content removed from tube sites? You silly senile old fool. Please get a job, get a life & do something of importance rather than trying to destroy other peoples businesses, livelyhood & stop trying to steal food from my families mouths, you ignorant wanker. |
