in my experience lifeguarding and such, paramedics never checked credentials prior to providing help.

now they all take their time setting up, but in the dozen or so times i've been front & center, none have ever checked that sort of thing.

They don't just throw up their hands and give up and say "Oh, he's an organ donor so it's not like it's a total loss".
