Hell's Kitchen is an American reality-television cooking competition (based on a series of the same name, broadcast in the UK) broadcast on FOX. It is hosted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
The program debuted on May 30, 2005, and has run every year since on an annual basis. The sixth season premiered on July 21, 2009 and ended October 13, 2009.[1]
Hell's Kitchen is the 2nd highest-rated competitive reality show in the United States, behind Survivor, it has surpassed The Apprentice (hosted by Donald Trump) in its number of non-celebrity contestant seasons, and has not attempted to bolster ratings with major format changes. Also, every season of Hell's Kitchen has been shown consecutively on a yearly (or twice a year) basis since it began in 2005 (as of 2010, six seasons have shown, with a seventh due to air). According to Nielsen, each season has seen enough viewer loyalty to have Fox renew its contract for yet another season. Accordingly, on August 6, 2009, Hell's Kitchen was renewed for an eighth season. [2] The seventh season of Hell's Kitchen will begin on June 1, 2010 at 8pm ET/7pm CT on FOX.

I've watched the last two seasons, and I have watched just about every episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

The dude knows his food, he knows what he wants and he won't accept anything but perfection. He does come off like a prick but these people know that going into it and if you're doing well he acknowledges that too so it's not like he's just being a dick to be a dick.

I like how on Kitchen Nightmares though when he inspects the kitchens sometimes he replies to the mess with "I've eeeeeaten it!" That always makes me laugh. And when he asks "what's wrong with the resturant" none of them ever think that maybe the food fucking sucks.
