Checking Multiple GMAIL accounts....How do you?

Checking Multiple GMAIL accounts....How do you do this?

I used to use a plugin for Firefox called "gmail manager" but this no longer works.

Any other ways to do this?

I pull of mine into Thunderbird now. Lost a lot of good plugins when FF went to 6.

If you're on Mac, check out Mailplane!

I've been using it for a couple of years - love it!

I forward all emails to the one I'm always logged in, pretty noobish - but effective, lol.

I just login to all my 4 gmail accounts at the same time, and then pin the tabs in my browser and activate email count (to show the amount of new emails in the pinned tabs) and I also activate desktop notifications. No need for any plugin or stand alone program.

And it saves the pinned tabs, so the next time you open your browser or after you reboot your computer, the 4 pinned tabs will still be there and it logs in to your accounts automatically.

Why not both in 1 browser?
You can just enable it in your account to allow multiple sign-in.

You can log in to up to 10 (I think) accounts at the same time in a single browser. It was just 3 last year, but they upgraded it to 10 a couple of months ago.

I wonder if linking them all together like that is wise though, seo wise, youtube wise, etc.... ?

You can set up all your accounts to forward to one account then in that one account you can go into your main account (the one you are forwarding to) and set up labels for each incoming account so you can keep the straight.

That doesn't make any sense. Gmail is an awesome email provider, with a lot more and faster futures than any mail client. There is no point using gmail and then not using it awesome interface. That just doesn't make any sense.

Why don't people just do this. Most of the times (if not all times) you have your browser open, so why use mail clients?

And if you enable desktop notifications you'll see new emails coming in even if you're not working in your browser.

I really see no advantage to use mail clients, plugins or multiple browsers?

^ this or just use Thunderbird.. I prefer thunderbird because i can get this more organized with it.. Was doing the forwarding thing for quite some time, but i got lost in the different labels and things like that..

With Thunderbird you can put everything in its separate folder and it also has a great autoresponder feature if you need that as well.

I used to do something similar, but then I had an issue and ended up with a wiped out hard drive so I lost a lot of emails. Of course if you back them up on a regular basis then that problem can be solved, but I like leaving it on gmail so I can check it from anywhere and have access to it anywhere if needed.

I really fail to see the advantage of this, why not all in the same browser? Makes a lot more sense to me...

you can sign in to multiple accounts in gmail and then just switch between them by clicking on your profile picture next to the settings button. You'll see a dropdown list of all gmail accounts you're signed in to and just switch between them like between sentbox and inbox. easy as that

Just activate the multiple accounts feature, then you can have it all in one tab. I just ditched Thunderbird, because it had gotten slow and buggy for me.

Your email client has nothing to do with that?

Konda: I have enough browser tabs open, I don't need more for emails... Makes perfect sense to use a client to me

Mailwasher

I've used Mailwasher for years. Mostly it just check headers, so you know if any mail is there. Keeps the spam off my computer as I always download and save my emails. Never know when Google might go under. (Can you say Compuserve). Unfortunately they don't have Mailwasher for Lion yet.
If there is any mail, I just have Thunderbird pull in the legit mail as TB checks multiple accounts
