Anon picking a fight they will not win...mexican cartel vs Anon

Web video threatens to disclose allies of Mexico?s Zetas cartel, calls for hacker?s release

By Associated Press, Published: October 30

VERACRUZ, Mexico ? An Internet video is threatening Mexico?s Zetas drug cartel with exposure of its allies in the local police and news media this week unless the gang frees a kidnapped member of the international hacker movement known as ?Anonymous.?

The YouTube message, which claims to be from Anonymous ?Veracruz, Mexico and the world,? says it is ?tired of the criminal group the Zetas, which is dedicated to kidnapping, stealing and extortion,? and threatens to fight back with information instead of weapons.

i suspect they will behead the guy, and also kill anyone they mention in their release, maybe their kids and wives as well. so anon can enjoy the blood on their hands...stick to corporations kids, murderous gangs are not to be bargained with.

i'd be more afraid of the corporations

i don't get why they even admitted this dude was apart of a group called 'anonymous'

the other question is how did an organizing based on drug trafficing, extortion and murder able to locate an anon member, when tech security firms didn't have the first clue

Did they mention the guys name? That would be extremely stupid...

But why wouldn't they threat that drug cartel? Do you really think the drug cartel is going to try to get all IP of everyone who is a anonymous "member" track them down and kill them?

From that article I am guessing that they got him by accident.

Most likely he is a programmer of some sort and makes a nice living and he was caught in a sweep of kidnapping for profit.

Once the Anon guys figured it out they posted this.

2 mistakes I see going on here.

1. Anon thinks that computers in Mexico play the same role as in the US. and thats not true.

2. The Zetas may think that by killing the guy they can just walk away without a scratch.

Its just one of those things.. If Anon gets a hold of one of the bank accounts they could really hurt the cartel by taking the money.

At the same time if they do something like that a LOT of innocent people WILL die for it.

better to fight and lose than to stand by and watch your people get killed while you do nothing

I think you're underestimating the power, skill, and influence of the these cartels. They own parts of the military, police, and government. Why would they not have access to powerful programming minds and tools?

I hope for the sake of anonymous they are not the script kiddies everyone claims them to be and do have the skills to cover their tracks very well. The cartels don't seek warrants and investigate for years before making arrests. I would say they kill and ask questions later, but the asking questions part could be left off.

Funny that "Anonymous" wants to fight extortion by, in a homeopathic way, extorting ...
