Search.xxx

I wonder if they do a better job ranking websites then google and alikes.

And with manwin boycotting .xxx i guess icm should return tge favor. Which means a total shift in the top 10 for 90% of the keywords.

Icm should plan a billion dollar strategy to get search.xxx known to the public, its what will make or break the .xxx extension!

Only time will tell. That's why I think keyword.xxx and keyword.com are important, and now with the launch of xxx there was the option to get a lot of keywords.xxx that were already taken under .com

If I'm not mistaken seach.xxx was already supposed to be a search engine for .xxx domains and only .xxx domains.

When you search for "porn" on Google, it gives you free porn. That's exactly what people want.

Search.xxx will be a fully featured search portal and should launch early next year.

And yes - of course we will be promoting and driving traffic to it.

I think critical key words will be different for search.xxx, (and this is strictly my opinion) becoming more relevant to what the consumer is actually looking to find. If they are on search.xxx they will already be looking for 'porn, XXX, etc.

Maybe it will be like the old days where all you have to do is stuff keywords in the meta tag to rank for them.

More like a: Pay Per Click and Pay Per Inclusion Search Engine and if so, this would be a very big mistake IMO.
I'm very curious, but at the same time I really don't see ICM listing anything for free, but lets wait and see how they decided to present this SE and with what ranking system.

Do people really believe this shit? Search.xxx? Who the fuck is going to goto that site? The only way this whole .xxx thing is going to work is with some seriously deep pockets and/or laws passed. And even then, simply introducing another porn related TLD like .porn will make a bigger joke of this whole thing than it already is.

which means its not going to really be a search engine and will be placed spots.

i find it hard to believe anyone behind .xxx is going to send webmasters any free traffic.

it will be a big launch, lots of free press, but i doubt its a true search engine.

anyone who thinks this is going to be a free search engine thats gonna give free listings is not looking at writing on the wall.

I am shocked that ICANN allowed you to do all of this. Auctions for domain names, six figure direct buys, reserving a great amount of premium names for yourselves, and now creating a search engine where presumably your own interests will get higher placement.

In my opinion this is a severe conflict of interest. You are a new registrar and you SHOULD be required to sell every domain for the standard price on a first come, first serve basis (if there is a trademark violation then deal with that after the fact according to the existing procedures). You should not be allowed to reserve thousands of questionable domain names for yourselves. You should not be allowed to negotiate 5 figure deals for those domain names and you should not be allowed to open a search engine as some sort of value added product. You are a registrar of a new tld and that's what you should be. I find it sickening that ICANN allows you to do this and I sincerely hope that you be brought in line. I know some will say "but other registrars have domain auctions too" but that's not the same because .xxx is an entirely new tld and they are able to reserve names at will to force an auction before anyone registers them even once.

IMO, the US government should be investigating both .xxx and ICANN for this fiasco. There should specifically be investigations looking for any illegal backroom deals or fraud which might be taking place both before and after ICANN approved .xxx.

Right along with the the way the domains are being sold? Something tells me this will go to the highest bidder as well.

Since when is ICM Registry developing their own porn sites? Has this always been your intention? Wouldn't it be much easier to just bought a couple of com domains to start sites instead of launching ICM Registry and a whole new tld just to get a few premium names for your own use? If you really wanted to help the industry you would have spent those millions buying traffic

Search engine while maybe adult in nature, not exactly a porn site. Remember, Google gives you porn but it isn't theirs and they don't host it... they sell traffic.

Which was bullshit from the start. It is completely out of line with the existing established practices. A new tld should be awarding domains on a first come, first serve basis at regular cost. Then if there are disputes you should handle them using existing procedures. If you do reserve names for certain parties then it should be at the normal cost. There shouldn't be shady five or six figure backroom deals for domains from a new tld. I can't believe that was allowed by ICANN and the US government in the first place.

I was more thinking about a freeones/porn.com kinda site, doesn't really matter too. The point is they have full intention of running a commercial site with huge conflicting interests

What conflicting interest? Money? This is business, however we want to spin it. Doesn't mean we like it...

This isn't the way the domain registrar system was intended to work though. There are serious questions as to whether some of it is even legal in regards to ICANN policies and regulations. Not to mention the charges of extortion made by mainstream companies and others.

reserving premium names with the goal to develop them yourself
who do you think will get more traffic, a loser who bought one xxx domain name or their own premium names?

I guess you can compare it more or less with the following: you use godaddy domain check to see if a domain is free. If the domain is free godaddy immediately register the name for their own usage and report back to you the name was already taken. Next they develop or sell the domain name for profit. That is a very smart business idea, yet not their job to do so.

.xxx tld extension, worst idea ever. The government wants to segregate porn on the internet so it can better censor and block it. Fuuuuuuuck that!! Why would any webmaster build a website on a .xxx domain, when eventually ISPs will filter or allow for the option of blocking .xxx domains to their customers.

I don't understand why this is so hard to believe when we've repeatedly stated we have traffic portals either in development and/or planned for.

Search.xxx isn't going to work worth shit once everybody gets done manipulating it for ranking.

If google can't keep up with the spam what makes ICM think they can?

Another stupid thing they came up with to trick gullible webmasters with no common sense.

knowing ICM they'll charge another $200/yr. For inclusion.

Blocking porn across all TLD's is completely different from simply blocking all .xxx's, blocking keywords like "porn" and others will never block all of it.

Its so wrong. So ICM is now going to pick the top domains and setup their own adult sites!?
