The things that get passed to 3rd parties...

I recently made a purchase on tigerdirect and they asked some verification by asking me questions I would only know. Like what was the year of my Suzuki GSX r600?

...I sold that thing back in '08, wow, really makes me wonder what stuff 3rd parties have of me. As long as I don't go to jail or the cops don't show up I really don't care though.

Did you get a credit card from them? Those questions usually come with any scenario where you are applying for credit, typically items on your credit report.

It was actually for billmelater, I've used them several times before but I guess they needed to check my credit again.

May credit is fairly good now so I'm happy about that.
Still, makes me wonder who has what in the obscure repository out there. I've never really been a victim of fraud.

The only time something weird happen was during a paypal transaction something happened where the payment was intercepted and changed, paypal corrected this though and I had a follow up conversation with them.

Good thing I don't need them ... I couldn't correctly answer any of those questions.

Despite these, this Nigerian criminal mastermind figured away around it... he'd just keep refreshing the screen and the only answers that would reappear were the right ones... That might still work with some of these history checks.
