So I'm curious...

As to why we're not gaining many affiliates from this side of the barn (gfy). Is it because we're not "bros", never attend shows and don't pay for a skin here, or?

I'm curious because our global ratio (all sites) for this year are 1:655 raw / 1:538 unique.

Global stats from when we launched with Nats (Oct 2009) until now are 1:619 raw / 1:494 unique.

Our retention is through the roof at about 83%.

Our bounce rate for our flagship site is quite low at 28%. And this site is about to be heavily remodeled.

So I'm curious... how come more people from around here aren't promoting our sites?

It's not that we're hurting for money, because we're doing better and better after each year.. I'm genuinely just really curious as to what it takes to get more people to promote a network that converts, pays on time and has never cheated anyone.

Do tell.

Well, aside from knowing at least half the people who post here aren't actually working in this industry.. yeah, I guess I do. I mean, we know about the whole "bro" thing, we know about the trolls and losers who aren't even a part of the industry outside of posting on these boards, we know about those with the deepest pockets getting the most attention..

Outside of that, yeah, I guess I need to because I'm curious. I mean, people talk and talk and talk about there being no honest programs left, this big program scams, that big program steals, et al.. yet it seems like those of us who are honest, are getting there much slower than the rest...

I think almost everything you just posted is wrong and if that is really your opinion of GFY, can you blame people for not noticing you and signing up to your program?

There are hundreds of people posting on GFY daily and many own programs. If you want people to sign up and promote your program, you need to stand out and market to the "GFY trolls and losers." GFY is simply a tool of conducting business. Posting, alone, is not enough.

Get involved with discussions. Contact people. Create leads, follow-up with those leads. Meet other businesses to form relationships with. There are lots of options and the onus is on you to take advantage of that.

Good luck!

Well, I guess that goes to show that we don't need the best loooking tour in order to make money. I can provide screens of the stats above if necessary.. but I've really nothing to gain by lying.

As far as the look of our sites.. our main site, Trike Patrol, is quite outdated and is in the process of being completely redone. But at the same time, it's still our most profitable site. I don't know if that says or means anything or not, but I think we have a pretty strong hold on the niche we're in. I can't think of a single site that can out match ours (nche wise.. 100% real filipina amateurs fucking white guys, in a nuttshell)... especially when it comes to exclusiveness of the content itself.

Now, I'm not going to try and feed you sugar coated shit and say our stuff is perfect, because it's not.. far from it. But I think that our stats do speak for itself.. and being that we're a 2 man run company, I think we're doing pretty good... but we could definitely stand to do much better.

Well, it's not 100% accurate but people generally click a link they see, like in our sig, as opposed to typing in the address. Then just look through traffic records and see where most of our affiliate joins come from.

Again, not really accurate by any means, but we can sort of form a general idea as to where our new affils come from.

Well, I wasn't saying I think all people here are idiots and losers.. but you have to agree that there are MANY of them. And sometimes it's difficult to sift through all the bullshit to find the stuff that matters. It's just a general notion that I get when I see more drama and nonsense threads than actual business threads.

You do have a good point though as we really don't reach out a lot. Not because we don't want to, mainly because we're extremely busy. But definitely an area we need to improve upon.

Thanks for the input.

You need more payment options on your sites and share that to the affiliates. Currently I am only seeing CCBILL. No Checks, SMS, Etc.

Hit me up and I'll help you with that!

My 2 cents for your curiosity, and I am certainly not an expert on the gfy crowd - I rarely come to this board, as I spend 12 hours a day working on my sites and not looking around at the random one line conversations that are prominent on many of the threads here..

What I guess is that most people who are active on this board have programs they are trying to push, not so much looking for programs to promote. Most of us average webmasters already have a few sites that we are promoting and spend a lot of time doing that rather than looking for new ones.

I don't promote a lot of Asian stuff in general, and I tend to shy away from sites that are hosted outside of US, as I worry about the perception of Asian teen content and foreign 2257 statements.

Just a couple of thoughts -

oh and

oh, and the name VDbucks and having herpes in your tag line is kind of funny, but doesn't attract the "turned on" excited to check out your content in the way something like "niceassbucks - spreading wide for more money" or something.. just saying.. Joking about VD and herpes might be funny - but not really a turn on...

the climate for affiliates has been changing as of late... just as the pay site model has been changing... a very many programs these days are going for the 'join' knowing full well they will not get a rejoin on that member, and these programs, which I would say are in the majority, are offering great deals to the affiliates because they must have the join to stay afloat.. even though a guy would be crazy to send traffic to a program offering 80%100% rev-share etc... look for older established programs with solid retention and go for gallery trades.

BTW this is the fucking around section at go fuck yourself...

I know what you are saying, though I think it is a common misperception. A lot of those nut jobs have been some of my better affiliates, while the ones who claim to know everything often seem to be all talk with little follow-through.

I approach it as... I never know who my next whale could be. I have had quite a few affiliates that I thought were going nowhere but I did my best to help them out and they returned the favor.

That old saying granny told you when you were a kid... don't judge a book. It's true in this nutty business, LOL.

Good point, though we haven't really considered the need for turning potential affiliates on. Makes sense though.

Yeah, I can see it that way.. I guess it could be my personal views that create the misconception, as I have, for the most part, looked at gfy as a place of 'entertainment' rather than business. I spend a LOT more time reading than posting here ><

for one thing your sig is terrible-
"VD Bucks - Spreading the revenue around like a bad case of herpes!"
not appealing at all really, and the text presentation is not eye catching.

associating making money with getting STDs is not a great idea IMO

I for one don't have the sort of traffic needed for your sites...

I have sigs turned off so would never see your program...

If you want affiliates, you have to get noticed... How many threads have you started posting some naked chicks from your sites??? None...

Well, we post every week in the section no one really reads with our latest promo tools for that week... but normal threads with just pics.. you're right, none. Something we'll try to start doing for sure.

Right, but the global ratio shows how our sites convert overall. Naturally, it depends on the traffic that the affiliate sends (quality, target level, etc) in order to base their ratios; but I think providing the global ratios serve to show our overall conversion level.

And I could be entirely incorrect just the same.. we've only been doing this since 2006 so still much to learn.

- it is never a good idea to complain about people in order to build a relationship (annoying at the beginning) -- my intention wasn't to complain

- Herpes is a bad word (https://gfy.com/showthread.php?t=1034436) -- I agree

- i'm french, but even if my english is not so good, i promote websites in english, and personally (this is my answer) i don't like to see an adult webmaster site written in french.
For dannicash (medley), i switch everything to english, since they have more content in english. The language is far less important than the content -- Is our affiliate site (or any of our sites for that matter) showing up in french? Or is that a general reason?

check yourself:
http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/5122/language.jpg

40% of bad french
60% of english
unusable if you don't know how to read english.
Honnestly, this is what happens usually with translated websites (i mean with google translate), so this is also a general reason.

Also, since i work in english and since my own english is far to be perfect, i feel more confident if i have some english sentences to use to describe my content. So it is better if i don't have to translate again some poorly translated sentences.

What pornmasta said I will second it "This is first time I have heard of you guys"

If people do not know of you , who you are and such and especially a nice niche as yours then you can t expect tons of affiliates to pop out of the air and sign up...

You gotta market your aff program better to affs, programs , and anybody else that can send sales

For some reason, I'm unable to see the image provided. This is what I get for imageshack links:

But if I understand correctly, you're using google translate to translate our site from english to french? And as a result, the page is essentially unreadable?

Yeah, this seems to be the general consensus and something we really need to improve.

Thanks again everyone for the input.

I don't know how many employees you have on the board but I think this definitely has a lot to do with it. Just keep posting more, post promos and added features, hot new girls etc etc (without being spammy) and you'l get noticed more.

For example: When the redesign is done for trikepatrol post a big promo and offer a nice incentive for promoting it.

Who is Eric and why do I have to hope he wouldn't see it? Does he have something against Asians? Did one beat him at a spelling bee in 4th grade or something?
