How much is your health insurance

Mine is $1024 a month for me and my daughter. She has pre-existing conditions though so her rate is 150% of normal. Every bill I get it goes up. SO much for Obamacare resulting in lower insurance premiums.

Ha, I did not see the other thread on the front page asking the same thing, ignore this post. I just opened my bill, saw another increase and was wandering if others see the same thing every month. Didnt see the other post.

I pay $154 a month, I'm 28, my premium goes up 3-4% a year and is with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Has been great to me. Covered pretty much everything from a recent surgery, and 6 nights in the hospital.

Opted for the higher deductible to save some $ on a yearly basis. Paying about 1200/year.

$0!

Wife works at a school that pays amazing benefits, probably worth about $1k/mo if we had to buy them out of pocket

HeyZues motherfucking Christ man. That's some scandalous shit... I thought that mine was really fucking bad at the yen equivalent of $400/month.

I don't have any "pre-existing" conditions but fuck it, I'm planning to take the rest of the week off from my regular nocturnal schedule to stock up on Xanax, Valium, and Rohypnol. Jap doctors are a fucking joke. I already have a 12 month supply of Valium and about a month of Xanax. I'll take a 2 minute drive to my local docs just to get my money's worth.

If I don't get what I want, I'll go to the next clinic. I can act well enough. For the most part I'm not even going to use this shit. I can sell the odd 0.25mg of Xanax here and there but for the most part it'll go straight down the toilet. But if I'm paying what I'm paying... fuck it. Ultimately, Pfizer & Roche have some amazing products and sales staff. If I'm going to pay what I pay, I best be getting something out of it.

How much has your health insurance bill risen as a percentage in the past 2 years? Is that disproportionately higher than it had risen the previous several years?

We can tell what "news" channel you watch.

"The pace of growth in family premiums reflects a significant acceleration from the 3 percent growth seen in 2010 but is still slower than the double-digit growth seen in the early 2000's."

...

"However, Drew Altman, President and CEO of the Kaiser Foundation, said that the health reform law had only a modest impact on premiums in 2011, noting that most of the law's provisions don't go into effect until 2014."

Nah man. I had just myself on it and it when I started the policy 5 years ago it was $500 a month. Before I added my daughter with her pre-existing condition 1 year ago it was $750 just for me. I think it went from 650 to 750 in one year. When I added her I got the family plan which brought it down a lot but because of her condition they charge 150% of the normal premium she would pay if no condition. So yes most of the increase was from 2 years ago to 1 year ago. I have bcbs.

Obamacare is lower. My $237 is Obamacare.

What you are seeing is insurance companies trying to maximize profits before they have to spend 80% of premiums on care.
