Choopa, who are present here, host Ultramegabit and several other piracy sites.

They are uncooperative.

It is our intention to cut off the various payment and financial accounts operated by Choopa.

Aren't they part of or related to Constant. They were/are used by Simon quite a bit, WJunction still has Constant banners in the header and are most likely on a Choopa server behind cloudflare.

Actually on further investigation it seems they may have moved with Planet Suzy to SECUREST LTD in Israel.

Kaktuz has been very busy trying to hide everything since we connected all the dots on him several months back.

Ultramegabit.com however IS hosted by Choopa and Choopa don't give a damn.

ACIUF is "proud" to cooperate with pirates, quote from their website: "We are proud to announce that in the near future ACIUF will partner in the fight against cyber piracy with OTEupload. Based on our experience we have a firm belief that this new collaboration will be a step forward for the adult industry, and for all right owners".

What a shame. OTEUpload is one of the worst, anti-piracy organizations are supposed to kill such sites, by hitting their service providers or by sueing them. Instead, we see a growning "cooperation" with pirates by ACIUF - first Donwloadnolimit, and now OTEUpload. All done under the thin veil of "protecting our members" which is pretty much protection racket, as defined by AK earlier and I fully agree with it.

Perhaps open a new thread with Choopa in topic and they may reply to it.

If you pay uploaders then you are incentivising the sharing of copyright infringing files. People aren't going to get thousands of downloads of their kids birthday party video, they're going to upload popular content such as the latest movies, or the best porn.

If you incentivise the sharing of copyright infringing content without the right to do so (i.e.: licensing) then you're going to find yourself in difficulty.

I would imagine if this hypothetical file host were to post an official support thread/advertise on your favorite hang out site (WJ) they would face difficulty MSK.

That site pretty much marks all file hosts, but you knew that already.

When you share such information publicly you're just helping the pirates get better at covering their tracks. Why do you think so many people try and goad us into telling them more about what we do and how we do it ? They are desperate to know how we know what they are doing and how better to cover their tracks.

The IP's and fake sign up names are just two sets of data out of hundreds of sets of data that can be used to follow lazy pirates, when they keep using the same IP or sign up names they are giving us a way to track them. Publicly sharing this and other information just helps them get better at avoiding detection.

The most constructive thing anyone can do to help in this effort is keep supplying copies of DMCA notices to [email protected] , to keep submitting piracy reports at http://copycontrol.org/report-piracy or to make a donation via Paxum or Paypal to [email protected]

Nobody has been as effective at hurting the pirates than us, we continue to crush their financial accounts and monetization methods bit by bit, it's much harder to monetize file lockers in 2013 than it was in 2012 or 2011, or earlier. We've moved on to other forms of piracy that fit into the eco system as we seek to further reduce the effectiveness of the pirates and their networks. However to keep doing this we have to keep the pirates on the back foot.

Please don't hurt our efforts by engaging in public information sharing of the various vectors and data that helps us do what we do. We can only continue to be successful by keeping the pirates guessing, keeping them in the dark until they wake up one day and find another merchant account or Paypal account shut down.
Well now who said anything about sharing stuff public lol. I only asked if there was knowledge sharing among webmasters

The intent of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act is to reduce piracy, not to give people like you a loophole through which you can drive your piracy bus.

Also, the notices which you have mentioned are just one tiny little part of the entire legislation.

I find it amazing that dumb, stupid webmasters think they satisfy the requirements of the whole act by simply accepting and responding to one of the various forms and notices proscribed in the legislation.

You can read a summary of the legislation here: http://www.copyright.gov/legislation/dmca.pdf

However to be fully compliant you're going to need lawyers to provide advice on the various things that you need to do in order to be compliant.

It's also worth noting that where you operate in a jurisdiction other than the USA you will also need to comply with local legislation which will usually included observing the various agreements and treaties entered into by your principal government.

I got you mate what you are actually trying to say , in other words the act was made in order to remove piracy not to leave a loophole like if they are removing then its ok but its not that i do understand and i also got you that u indirectly said that i was dumb and stupid ;)
Yes a person has to be in touch with the lawyers in order to learn and comply with the rules and regulations regarding the copyright laws of the country if not in the US
So in the end according to me you are trying to say its not just about answering to the DMCA the main thing is that u need to make sure that content doesn't get uploaded again and currently nowadays if a particular file is deleted it can be re-uploaded again and thats the problem that you are facing and thats is to why you are killing of the filelockers

It's obvious that you do not understand.

All of the file lockers being promoted at WJunction and UploaderTalk are unlawful, every single one of them.

It does not matter that they remove content when they receive a DMCA notice because they never had DMCA safe harbour in the first place as they have all deliberately set up a paid system of organised copyright infringement.

If you choose to do the same then we will crush you just as we will crush all the other infringers.

I am amazed that this site has paypal.

But then I suppose this is the new commercial reality.

If a site ticks all the boxes correctly on the due diligence then they get an account. The sums involved are to large to ignore.

We are working through this issue, however there are many different factors that make the Mega issue different from the vast majority of file lockers we have dealt with thus far.

However, my personal opinion is that Mega should not have Paypal.

What's wrong with Mega? I believe they respond to DMCA complaints and they do not have any sort of affiliate or incentive to upload like all the other file lockers.

Are you guys trying to kill all file hosting websites in general? If so that is simply stupid. There is a need for file hosting services like mega, dropbox, and google drive.

It's the services that offer incentives and don't respond to DMCA that should be looked at.

If you think that Mega should be listed alongside Dropbox or Google Drive then you are a fool.

Mega is not of the same ilk as these services.

You upload files to both services and then you share the files.

True dat. It will never, ever be stopped, despite how many people AK calls names and threatens to "crush".

How long has he been trying this? Anyone see any impact on sales because of it? I've not seen any case studies.

You upload files to both services and then you share the files.
Mega have a number of problems:

1. A large number of potentially illegal files.
2. The refusal to block (as they originally promised) search results from Mega-Search.me and other file search engines.
3. They have not demonstrated the same commitment to combating copyright infringement than is demonstrated by other legitimate cloud hosting services.
4. The only difference between them selling access to copyright content and not is the amount of free downloads available to non members of the site, Kim Dotcom can reduce the threshold at any time and then you will have MegaUpload MkII

There are other issues also that I will not discuss publicly as we do not wish to provide Mega with insight into how we will combat them.

How long has he been trying this? Anyone see any impact on sales because of it? I've not seen any case studies.
In the past twelve months the number of file lockers accepting Paypal has gone from hundreds to just a few.

You have remarked yourself that the Epoch Paypal trial has produced some impressive sales numbers from Paypal, cutting off that source of income has mortally wounded most file lockers and leaves others dying.

We've virtually eliminated the sale of file locker vouchers from eBay having gone from a few hundred listings months ago to just a few now.

Any listings that do slip through have a life expectancy of a day before they are removed and in some cases the persons listing them have their eBay and Paypal accounts restricted.

By chipping away at all the various monetization methods used by the illegal file locker community we push this illicit industry further into the margins.

If anyone had any doubt this guy was a pirate then this quote from WJunction should clear things up

Isn't the internet entertaining all on it's own.

The cast being a mix of people, an international setting, intrigue, deceit, good guys, bad guys, It makes you want to grab a huge beverage, a generous amount of snacks and watch for hours daily.

Most everyone online will say more then they should if you let them talk long enough.

I've been dealing with one thief in particular who has been uploading my videos daily to RapidGator.net

RapidGator is complying with the DMCA's but they take almost a week to pull them down so the content is piling up faster than it's being removed.

Has anyone taken legal action against file lockers for not removing users like this one in particular? They are acknowledging that he doesn't have consent to upload the content yet they allow him to upload about 10 of my videos each day. He goes by the username PIMP20 and has uploaded literally tens of thousands of stolen videos to various lockers. I'm sure it's quite a little enterprise for him.

you ever see one of those cars worth less than $1,000 with like 8 grand worth of rims on them? you hire a lawyer and if you lose the case only persons getting paid is the pirate and the lawyer.
