This Google-hosted pirate is down for a couple of days now. It seems that pirates aren’t afraid to use even Google as a hosting company. But their choice seems to have turned against them. Pointing out to Google what kind of materials the site presents sealed the faith of this one.

When I look at the way these outfits go about their "business", it's not hard to imagine that they aren't very savvy, or into doing things like exploring details in how to close up holes in delivery, payment and every other aspect of their operations. There is no incentive for the adult industry to support this. The truth is that they would not see any return on their investment. What you're really doing is helping out the million/billion dollar companies such as Adobe, Microsoft, etc as well as recording labels and film companies. We can, for example, immediately stop SMS billing to illegal or legal porn from Australia as it's illegal and the ACMA (www.acma.gov.au) have a straightforward reporting and resolution process. Some other countries are similar. We'll be able to deal with it when time and resources allow.

It is true that adult indistry is smaller money than software and mainstream movie & music, and so that stopping file lockers save more money to mainstream than to adult. Further, with PayPal as payment option, more people are likely to buy than with ccbill or epoch.

So for noobs see the unfair competition of the 2 cases:

1) Affiliate gets promo tool from pay site, that's 5 min clips, and links that to the pay site. The 5 min clips in his site are too short to have people bookmark or return there so his traffic is smaller. Users can't use paypal popular option to buy on the pay site.

2) Affiliate gets full dvd/site rip (or live cam shows rip) from somewhere. Uploads the whole in a file locker under his affilaite account, and put those updates in a blog or so. His traffic grows automagically because of full content for free, bookmark and returning users maximized. User can use paypal popular option to buy to file locker for faster downloads.

For the 2), additionally there is money it can be made with url hide/redirect and hosted thumbnail images. These make finally the money with advertising, and here it comes the advertising networks...
In fact, there are some free image hosters where 80% of its images are simply vidcaps screenshop previews of the full site/dvdrip, and it pays commissions for traffic sent to see such previews. Also the url hide/redirect, this is an extra step before reach the file locker url, it both keep safe the file locker link from being found in google search on the pirate site that links to it, and pays who use it because it opens extra sdverts.
The url hide/redirect and screencaps hosters can pay because displaying advertising, that someone buys, for example casino, or "you win something" scam and so on.
As questioned in other thread, some time there's banners in the main pirate site itself too.

So the advertising it is yet another big income flow for pirate sites, especially torrent ones, as they do not even host anything big, being p2p, so can rely only in advertising and not in paypal's of file lockers or so.

In other words, the file lockers + pirate adverts (image host + url redirect + banner networks), are a way to do more money for an "affiliate" than a legitimate adult site/blog with official promo tools linking to official pay site.

First of all, can you list 1 example of CarrotPay being used for FileLockers. If you consider FileShoppe to be a file locker, then please provide 1 OTHER example.

Second. Are you aware that FileShoppe is a platform to facilitate the sale of digital goods (i.e. downloadable files)? Is there any particular reason you are lumping us in with 'illegal file lockers'? I see no mention of MediaFire on your site, nor Hostgator, nor any other legitimate host. Any particular reason you have targeted us?

I thought you were fighting the good fight, so it seems a shame you have no consideration for the damage you cause to legitimate businesses, resulting in lost revenue. You 'fight' for anti-piracy, I assume for the reason of protecting the income of those producing the content/material. So you are not so different from the very people you fight against legitimate businesses are caught in your crossfire.

Further more, you are happy to go round making accusations about FileShoppe and our payment gateway, but have you contact us? Have you actually done your research? Perhaps I could state on this forum that your server hosts TONS of Child Pornography, and that you are profiting from those sales. It's not necessarily true, but may it not tarnish your 'good' name? Would you care?

Regarding the recruitment of loaders, WJunction is not an exclusively engaged in illicit activities. Not to mention, many web hosts (forget file hosts) advertise and promote their services there. They also have a number of representatives from respected legitimate payment gateways such as 2CO.

We have never solicited the use of our service to share copyright material, and we do not encourage it as is evident by the fact we DO NOT offer a reward program for sharing. We have no PPD or PPS and we have a clear take down procedure and E-Mail address of which to use. In the 14 months of opperation, we have received a total of 0 (yes ZERO) take down requests, because we are NOT used for file sharing. And why would we be used for file sharing? There's no reward for such use!

And what 'Carrot arrangement' do you speak of exactly? And what other blow do speak of? Contacting paypal to report unrelated payapl accounts perhaps?

Finally, in my E-Mail to you a few days ago, I offered you, and organizations that fight your cause, a system to remove content yourselves. We would be happy to authorize anti-piracy organizations and large copyright holders a facility to simply login and remove content.

Your allegations are baseless. We have no interest in file sharing. We make no money from it, and encourage no one to do so. We only make money from sales of files.

Finally, you have completely failed to address the questions regarding CarrotPay. What file host uses CarrotPay? Can you name one (and not us). I would bet you didn't even bother contacting them to query our account, or anyone else account (assuming there are any file hosts using them). File hosts sign up to paypal, 2co, and other merchant gateways all the time. Do you target all the gateways? I believe with paypal you contact them first do you not? Or are you hell bent on taking them down also?

Thanks for that. Indeed we are not promoting ourselves as a FILE HOST per se. In that we do not offer the same services as that of Rapidshare. And we certainly do not reward, or provide incentives to upload copyright material.

I accept the fact that copyright material may be hosted on our servers, but that would be true of virtually any host, including the likes of GoDaddy and Hostgator. Giants in the industry! And of course we have an open and free system so abuse is relatively easy. But why would pirates bother with us when they can make money with the blatantly pro piracy file hosts?

Regarding the whois information, I am able to speak for that also.

FileShoppe is owned by the same guys who own HostHongKong, which is owned by Clive Rand. Host Hong Kong is obviously a webhosting provide that also registers domain names.

That being said, we, and by we I mean Clive, HostHongKong, FileShoppe and Carrot have no connection to Pornbb.org. The only connection that may exist between Clive and other 'illicit' third parties may be that of PhazeDDL, which was hosted by HostHongKong around 7 years ago.

Host Hong Kong does not host warez sites, and you are encouraged to 'look it up' if you like.

Oh and you have probably already guessed that Clive and Ricky, are related.
