Trying to distance himself from the "legitimate rape" comment that Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) made last week, Pennsylvania Senate candidate Tom Smith (R) stirred up further controversy by comparing a pregnancy caused by rape to "having a baby out of wedlock."

Sounds like Republicans want to go all the way back to caveman days where if you wanted some sex and a baby, you'd smack her over the head and drag her back to your cave.

I really thought we'd see some serious progress by now in Republican family planning.

Now people should see the problem with giving government too much control over your life. If it were not for big government this would not be an issue. But since both the left and most of the right believe that the government grants rights we will always be divided over such issues while bankers and wall street rob the treasury.
