Is Mitt Romney a Hypocrite? How Confident Are Republicans?
I'm an independent I have voted for both parties at one point or another. I vote for what I feel is best for my family and overall for the country. Most people will vote along party lines even if it means voting against their own interests. By the way I did not vote for Obama 4 years ago.
Not trying to bash Romney, but even republicans I have spoken to who are friends find him hard to swallow cause he says one thing but does another or changes his mind. As a republican how confident are you that will follow through? Here are a few examples of flip flopping - Bashes welfare but his dad was on it. - Talks negatively about tax loop holes but he pays low taxes due to loop holes. - Was for abortion now isn't - Was the grandfather of Obama care and even boasted about it but now acts like it's a bad word. When he wants to take credit for where Obama Care originated he calls it Health Care Reform. - Softened his positions on healthcare, immigration and gay rights during the Univision forum, despite those being platforms which gave him the nomination with republicans. - The other day he made fun of Obama saying you cannot change Washington from the inside you have to do it from the outside. Actually the exact words Romney himself has used. - He said he never supported the stimulus but in old interviews he said the president needed to do that. - Didn't embrace policies Reagan but now he embraces his politics. - Said humans have contributed to global warming but years later he says he doesn't believe in global warming. - Supported unions then didn't. - Talks about how bad China is but he himself has invested into companies in China for manufacturing purposes. There are many more instances the list is actually really long but you get the picture. Also what are the details of his plan? Peter Alexander asked for details in and interview, he really was vague and when pushed by Alexander on specific cuts which many believe will be the mortgage deductions etc his reply was: "The devil is in the details, the angel is the policy" How does that help? Is he asking republicans to vote for him without specifics and then see? |

Because if either of them reveal what they are going to have to do (cutting) they are going to alienate part of their voter base. Doesn't matter anyway...average Americans don't have the time or patience to figure out complicated tax code changes even if either one did give out details. I was watching Bill Maher's show this last Friday on HBO and he said something that was pretty funny. He spoke about the 5 or 6 % of Americans who are "undecided" in the swing states who will be the ones deciding who wins this election. He pointed out that the media makes it seem like they are great scholars who are endlessly pouring over policy and studying the candidates positions...then he showed some famous "Undecided" voters like Kim Kardashian! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() He said if you can't tell the difference between Obama and Romney after Obama has been president for 4 years and Romney has been running for president since 2008...then you probably shouldn't be voting. ![]() |

Dude you really have to stop saying that. Didn't you know that Republicans are trying to take away the ability for people to vote? If you don't believe me just google "Voter Suppression" and you'll be amazed at what is going on.

Obama at least tells us he will cut taxes for the rich, like it or not and also will make cuts to programs/budget/government which include defense (like it or not). Romney just tells us he is going to cut taxes for everyone. There is no way to balance the budget on government program cuts alone, that's ridiculous! Especially when you are promising not to touch the defense budget and other huge programs which take billions of dollars every year. This is a long term issue which will not be changed in one term regardless who the president is. If the mortgage interest credit or charitable deductions credits are at stake then tell us that along with any other programs or "loop holes" he plans to hit. it may make sense for the country. |

But with the govt. spending 10.6 BILLION dollars every day..spending cuts are exactly what is going to have to happen. I heard a statistic on the news that said if the Federal govt. just actually CONFISCATED everyone's money past the $250,000 mark...not tax it...but just TAKE 100% of everybody's money that is earned over $250,000...it would run the U.S. govt. for about ONE month!!!! Spending is exactly what needs to stop. 10.6 BILLION a day? That is outrageous. |

Romney is a bleeding heart liberal who works as a Republican. That is the most dangerous type of Republican.
The guy was fighting for gay rights two decades ago when being gay still had very negative connotations in society. He was seriously putting his neck on the line. A true conservative wouldn't have done that. He is a fraud and very dangerous. |

He would be the ultimate person to blame. If his campaign manager isn't good Romney needs to fire him. |
