Most webcam companies deal honestly with webmasters with a few notable exceptions.

I know for fact that we deal honestly with webmasters. I have gone out of my way to secure sold members to their webmaster referrers with a unified member database. A member is a member on all of the sites in our network and if he opens a new account; we would generally is most cases know that he is the same member that you referred and you would continue to receive your revshare.

A deal is a deal and as our company policy we try to honor that and not to try to find ways to induce your referred customer to another cam site that we own to avoid paying you -- that is called slippage, another word for shaving. We do not engage in these practices or "fix" our stats and save your sales during our maintenance -- sure ...

Most adult companies most certainly do NOT deal honestly with their affiliates. If that were truly the case it would not need to be said. But some are better than others and there are a few honest ones still.

My advice is to try them all out and be ready to switch out links in a couple moments if you have to. Watch out for the "welcome aboard!" surge and then the corresponding "time to get shaved" drop a few months later with some companies. If you feel there's funny business don't hesitate to try something else and remove links if it gets too bad. Don't be like some of the lazy affiliates who will leave links up even when the company converts 1:35,000 and earns them $5 a month. Ignore the ref link crap or the reps. They are just doing their job.

It's fairly pointless to say "some are honest and some aren't", unless you're going to name names. It's also fairly pointless to say ignore the reflink crap and the reps, when there's nothing else in the thread and you haven't given a single suggestion yourself. Or are none of the cam programs honest?

It's the best advice for the times. What might work for me may not work for you. If a company seems honest for Freeones or Niktamer that does not mean they will be honest for a regular affiliate. Test them yourself and be ready to change links.

The reflink crap is just crap. 9/10 it's people trying to make a dime. With the reps they are doing their jobs. What do you expect them to say? "We suck and we shave! Our owner would sell out his own mother for $20!"

^ I agree with what you say there, I just thought you maybe had a view on which programs were honest and which weren't, and might name the ones you think are honest. Obviously naming the dishonest ones is a bit more risky.

Even if you test a program you're not going to know if it's honest or not, maybe it just doesn't convert with your traffic.

Right, we will never completely know for sure that a program is 100% honest

But if your stress about it, there is many things you can do,, heres some:

- Go read forum like here and others. use the search tools for the sponsors you want to try

- Google the sponsors name with scam, fraud words in the search

- Work with established and good reputation brands

- Find sites that talk about it and have list likes freeone hall of shame and other like that

- Test yourself and make few sign up with differents cards/name/trackers and look in your stats if its there. Try to find someone from another country to do it to

- Go on the landing page often and click EVERYWHERE and verify if your trackink ID is still there

- Try with different, tablets, mobile, android, iphone to see how it works

- Take a proxy and try different geos to see if theres is any redirection or anything suspiscious (geosurf is the best for that)

- Look in details all the stats admin ,watch for pattern or non sales period

Yes at the end the result/ROI matters... but if someone doesnt trust and dont want to be suspicious and shaved , theres a lot of things to prevent that..

But true i remember we were pushing a lot a xyz sponsors that peoples suspect to shave... and dont get me wrong i hate that and was watching carefully, but at the end, shave or not i was doing more money with some traffic sources than the others sponsors... so i continue to promote them because at the end the total remaining matters and anyway i never had a proof so..

exactly. Just try some yourself and find out what works for your traffic.

We have great results with VS Media and Streamate and both have good and bad stories about them.

About shaving to google the program name it is not reliable. Anyone can do fake nicks to write in every forum or site that a program scammed them even if this is not true, or to defend program who really is scammer. Plus there's paranoid affiliates who are sincerely convinced they got shaved stats even this is not true and will post conspiracy theories, every big program got these guys writing bad "hey program is big so they must be evil".

I think googleing it is useful to find the complete non-payers, so if a program stopped to pay or reply anyone in 2011, you can find this.

Also about rep's and affiliate links... they are pushing sites who at least are alive, got affiliates and rep's, it is not totally negative

Good post. This is one of the better posts from an affiliate rep/owner/partner which I have ever seen on the subject.

About shaving to google the program name it is not reliable. Anyone can do fake nicks to write in every forum or site that a program scammed them even if this is not true, or to defend program who really is scammer. Plus there's paranoid affiliates who are sincerely convinced they got shaved stats even this is not true and will post conspiracy theories, every big program got these guys writing bad "hey program is big so they must be evil".

But where there is smoke there is fire. Most affiliates aren't going to complain unless they are to the point where they are ready to say fuck it. They want to be paid what they are owed and sometimes complaining will harm the chances of that happening.

If a good program gets badmouthed on a forum usually other affiliates will speak up and share that they aren't seeing problems. When others don't speak up or it's only the usual "bro club" which does so then that also suggests something too.
