Surprises for Obama and Romney in the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll

Republican Mitt Romney has closed the gap with President Barack Obama and the two candidates are now tied in the November 6 presidential race, according to a Reuters/Ipsos daily tracking poll released today.

Things have shifted. 3 weeks ago it looked like Obama was going to walk away with it, but that one shitty debate performance evened things out and now it looks like Romney has a shot. He still has an uphill battle to fight in the electoral college, but it looks like it is likely going to be very close now.

There's no surprise. We have been telling you this for over a week now. Most polls show Romney ahead!

Here you go: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epo...llege_map.html

Obama is not exactly losing the battleground states polls. Tonight's debate, from Florida, should be a good one.

Hmm, Gallup has unadjusted unemployment down 3% to 7.3% since January alone:

http://www.gallup.com/poll/158060/un...d-october.aspx

That's less than 3% from the norm before the crash.

The trend says give Obama 10 more months and employment will be fixed.

Why is it so hard to understand that hiring isn't what is dropping the unemployment rate.
The amount of people dropping off of unemployment because they have run out of benefits is what is making unemployment % better.

This shit isn't rocket science...

Do you have any evidence to back that up? How the fuck do you know?

Obama 2012.

Just running out of unemployment doesn't drop you from the numbers. To be counted in the unemployment rate you have to be unemployed and be actively looking for a job.

There are a lot of people who have stopped looking for jobs so they no longer count or they are working part time and they no longer count as well.

Polling better in the popular vote has zero impact.

Ohio, Florida, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
The rest are irrelevant.

The interesting thing is that Obama can lose two out of those four states and still win while Romney pretty much as to win all four.

Do these polls mean anything when the electoral college is favoring Obama?

Almost all US Presidential elections are split in popular vote nearly 50/50.

Gore won the popular vote.
I'm not sure that did him any good.
It definitely didn't seem to bother W a bit.
