Obama appears to have early vote lead in key states

So far, Democratic voters outnumber Republicans in Florida, Iowa, Nevada, North Carolina and Ohio? five states that could decide the election, if they voted the same way. Republicans have the edge in Colorado, which Obama won in 2008.

Bad thing about early elections, we have pundits counting for weeks instead of one day.

In my state we vote by mail so I voted last week. I saw on the news today that there was a woman who is an elections official that was arrested today. She was opening the ballots and if people didn't vote for a particular seat she would fill in the dot for them and vote for the republican candidates.

I think repubs typically do more absentee voting and dems more early voting. Maybe that's just Florida though.

All I know is...Obama disappointed me and I want him gone and the next clown in to try another plan.

BUT...having said that...I have a feeling that if Obama were to lose, GrantMercury would fall into a severe lifelong depression and possibly harm himself.
So for the sake of GrantMercury, and of course for all the Canadian GFY'ers who are also Obama-Maniacs...I hope that Obama pulls it out.

That way GrantMercury can finally go back to doing whatever it is he does in this business and post something about business instead of constant attacks on Republicans.

I think both parties play dirty. The republicans play a little dirtier and have a certain self-righteousness about calling the democrats on it.

The democrats tend to be spineless and don't publicize it as much.

When it comes to voter fraud and doing stupid shit during elections...NOBODY has ever been as dirty as the Democrats in Chicago.

They basically invented dirty politics and voter fraud back in the day.

The Daley family and the mob were hand in hand: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politic...ory_of_Chicago

You had unrealistic expectations.

Everyone seems to think this is something that "should be fixed by now". This is not a four or eight year problem. This is a "ten year problem that will last a lifetime". People will remember this period for the rest of their lives and will hide money in their mattress.

Anyone who thought Obama was going to be able to fix this in four years is a fucking idiot.

Yeah he did, and that was a big blunder. But what Rochard said is 100% correct. You don't recover from this level of economic catastrophe in a few years, regardless of which corrupt dem/rep stuffed shirt is in the White House.

The business cycle is far more significant than politics, but people get so easily caught up in the dem v rep football game and completely lose sight of the big picture.

Yep and when Obama "set the expectations" everyone gives him a pass.

When Romney sets expectations in the campaign...the Dems call him a liar (and every other nasty thing they can think of)

Sounds like hypocrisy to me.

Obama fucking lied and said anything he had to to get elected. It's just that simple. And Democrats are not holding him to the same standard.

Here is what Obama himself said in 2008 when he accepted the Democrat nomination:
"If you don't have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from. You make a big election about small things.

And you know what? It's worked before, because it feeds into the cynicism we all have about government. When Washington doesn't work, all its promises seem empty. If your hopes have been dashed again and again, then it's best to stop hoping and settle for what you already know."

I have posted this several times for my Dem friends here on GFY...and not ONCE have any of them addressed it.

You see, Obama is doing exactly what he condemned in 2008. Just like everything else...he is flip flopping and lying about things.

I disagree.
This entire economic collapse was brought on by the collapse of the housing market.

Just imagine if instead of taking a couple of trillion dollars and giving it to the banks...Bush and Obama had instead paid off all the personal home mortgages with that money.
Boom. The banks would have gotten their money, people would have kept their homes, economy wouldn't have collapsed.

But that is the past.

Now what needs to happen are JOBS. And Obama has done stupid shit like block the Keystone Pipeline!
I've read varying numbers of jobs that would have created...but even if it created just ONE job...why the fuck would he block that?!?!?!

Just pure mishandling of the economy in every way by a bumbling fool with no experience in the real world.

maybe because 254 miles of the pipeline coming through Nebraska directly over the Ogallala Aquifer could cost billions and far outweigh the benefits of a few jobs or because it is mainly an export pipeline that may actually increase prices at the pump as the oil flows overseas when we aren't energy independent.

Pipeline is used as a political tool here is the bigger picture :

Cost who "billions"???

The govt. wasn't going to pay anything. And how the hell do you think that Canadian oil being moved on a U.S. pipeline is going to increase our gas prices?

Some of the logic here is just insane...people need JOBS. Obama blocked that pipeline because he has big campaign donors and cronies involved in alternative energy. It's just that simple. He put his own money coming in ahead of what is good for the country.

He's a politician. That's what they do.

Also your graph shows what has happened in SPITE of the President's policies. All those gains in oil are on state and private lands, not on the Federal land that Obama has blocked any new drilling on. Obama's policies did not increase oil production by ONE drop. He could have. He could have made it go through the roof. But he has chosen not to in order to placate his constituency.

Most of the old no oil drilling zones off the east coast, the gulf, and off much of Alaska are now open for oil leasing, compliments of president Obama.

It's a subject I know and we've been in the midst of an oil and energy boom under Obama, the biggest problem isn't regulations or restrictions, its believe it or not, lack of labor and equipment to keep up.

Neither. It means that both sides play up for their own crowd while doing the opposite they preach.

It keeps the fake divide between them going and partisans on both sides happy.

They have a long history of cheating - because they HAVE TO. That bitch should get 20 years. There must be NO TOLERANCE for anyone who would fuck with our elections.

Obviously I support Obama. I live in a swing state, and I canvass for him regularly. From time to time, I come upon a house that had been visited by Romney people. I see the literature they left at the door. It would be SO easy, to take the stuff they left, and replace it with Obama's. But I don't. I just place the Obama stuff next to Romney's, and continue on. To do otherwise would be wrong, as much as I hate Mitt, and think his supporters are fools. There is very little doubt in my mind that the Romney people would not do likewise. After all, they are always the ones stealing and destroying the road signs around here.

Obama 2012.

I know. The fact that the Dems allow this shit to happen over and over makes me insane. After 2000, this whole fucking country should have put in place sensible laws to prevent that kind of shit. Paper ballots - with receipts like an ATM, and federally owned machines. And fuck the state-by-state "Voter ID" shit. Every eligible voter should get a voter card for free in the mail FIRST, and then put these needless laws in place if it makes the Repugs happy.

Thanks for your concern. If Obama disappointed you, I guess you wanted a pony?

Anyone who thinks 4 years is enough time to fix what Bush took 8 to fuck up isn't realistic.

By every measure, the country is improving - not quickly, true - but that doesn't mean you throw the car in reverse and go back to the same GOP "tax cuts and regulation rollbacks fix everything" horseshit they've been peddling for 30 years.

The stock market has nearly doubled under Obama. House prices are rising again. Manufacturing jobs are rising for the first time since the mid-1990s. No new wars have been launched. This year, our dependence on foreign oil is at a 20-year low. All good stuff. We're getting there.

Give Obama a second term, or give Bush a third.

Bill Clinton endorses Obama. George W. Bush endorses Romney. Enough said.

Obama 2012.

Yeah?

Washington (CNN) -- Senate Republicans on Thursday blocked the No.1 item on the president's congressional "to-do-list," refusing to allow a vote on a bill that would give tax breaks for companies that "insource" jobs to the U.S. from overseas while eliminating tax deductions for companies that move jobs abroad.

(AP) WASHINGTON - Senate Republicans blocked legislation Wednesday that would have established a $1 billion jobs program putting veterans back to work tending to the country's federal lands and bolstering local police and fire departments.

Senate Republicans block another piece of Obama's jobs plan

Reporting from Washington ? Republicans maintained their unified front against President Obama's jobs package, blocking $60 billion in funding for roads and other infrastructure projects despite indications they are sensitive about losing ground on a top issue for voters.

The GOP has shown great discipline as it fights the president's $447-billion jobs plan, even as polls show Americans largely support its various elements.

Senate Republicans Block Another Jobs Bill, Face Backlash From American Public

The method Republicans have used to block all jobs legislation in the past two years is the same. A jobs bill comes up, it is filled with positive things for the economy, Republicans filibuster debate, this shields them from having to make floor speeches on why they don't want tax breaks for small businesses... etc.

Why? Well, if the economy recovers too strongly before an election, Republicans will lose power. If jobs numbers look too good, people will want to keep the same party. By Republicans blocking all jobs legislation and keeping jobs numbers from improving they believe this is their ticket to power.

The Repiglicans appreciate you doing exactly what they'd hoped - putting all the blame on Obama. Instead of helping to clean up the fucking mess they created, they do everything they can to hold back the recovery. Fuck the GOP.

Obama 2012.

Anyone who thinks either of them will solve our problems by 2016 is simply delusional.

GrantMercury...you can call something a "jobs" bill all day long. But if all it does is throw money out AGAIN...it's not a "jobs" bill.

A real "jobs" bill would be one that made a more attractive environment for business to thrive in.

If you ever stop thinking that govt. is the end-all, be-all and actually own your own business, home, and pay taxes like I do...you would understand.

GrantMercury...serious question:
Why aren't you a Libertarian? You are in the adult industry. Obama would throw every one of us under the bus if he thought it would get him elected.

And while it's true he hasn't done anything against us...he also hasn't done anything for us. Kind of like the way he's done (or not done) everything else. lol

I early voted for Gary Johnson. He is "Pro-Choice on EVERYTHING". And he has stated that he would work to abolish all obscenity laws. Obama doesn't even have the balls to make pot legal. lol
Much less lift a finger to give us back our personal freedoms.

Obama still keeps the good old Patriot Act (boy did Bush pull a whopper when they named that one), the TSA searching us at airports (never found even ONE bomb...just lots of drugs to arrest people over).

He's a warmonger and anti-freedom.

And yet there you sit practically having an orgasm over him.

Why?

I pay taxes dude, so fuck off. You sound like an asswipe that spends way too much time patting himself on the back.

Did you even bother to read what I posted before throwing up your snarky bullshit? If you did, you'd have seen that OBAMA WANTED TO GIVE TAX BREAKS TO COMPANIES THAT KEEP JOBS IN AMERICA. Wouldn't it be reasonable to say that would make "a more attractive environment for business to thrive in?"

Republicans jerk off to fantasies of outsourcing American jobs.

Money needs to keep moving. When companies stop spending, the economy will seize. The government can "add some oil" to the engine by putting people to work - in the present case by repairing our decomposing infrastructure that desperately needs updating.

But the Rethugs WANT the engine to seize - so dipshits will blame the President and put the GOP back in power. They'll put party before country every time.

Obama 2012.

Actually, they probably learned from Tammany Hall back in the 1850's to the 1930's in NYC.

I see, so you don't answer my question. You just spout hate.

Your world view is pretty limited my friend. You do nothing but spit out hateful, vitriolic attacks against anyone and everyone that doesn't agree with you.

That makes you very, very common. And if you do pay taxes...I'm guessing it's not much. You don't act like a guy who does a lot of business or deals with a lot of money. You're far too coarse and hateful.

That's such bullshit. Now you're a mind reader and know what Obama is thinking? Why would you say that? You admit yourself that Obama has done nothing to harm our industry!

It reminds me of a dingbat I talked to recently who was adamant that Obama would take our guns away - although he's done NOTHING on gun control - while Mitt actually DID ban assault rifles when he was Governor of MA. People dream up their own realities. It's amazing.

And if there's anyone who will say and do anything to get elected - it's Mittens HANDS DOWN. That fucker has taken every position under the sun! Just watch this shit - it's astonishing: https://youtube.com/watch?v=CUzEJiFpmsQ

He's the ultimate greasy, slippery politician.

Obama is the same guy he's always been - not perfect, but who is? Mitt, on the other hand, is whoever he needs to be at the moment. And that's disgusting no matter what side of the political spectrum one is on.

Obama 2012.

So you have no answer again GrantMercury.

I asked you why you wouldn't vote Libertarian. Gary Johnson has made his stand VERY clear.

But just like your hero Obama, you are just spinning and deflecting and flinging insults and mud.

Sad.

Jesus Christ! You said "A real 'jobs' bill would be one that made a more attractive environment for business to thrive in," correct?

Quote:

Sounds like that would make a "more attractive environment" for business to me! Am I wrong?

Call me "course" and "hateful" if you want, and I'll call you a teabagger who doesn't know how to read.

It's just funny how I am voting for Johnson.

And I don't need to fling mud on Romney (he isn't the president) and I don't need to fling mud at Obama (I go after his RECORD)

But Dems that support Obama like GrantMercury make post after post and thread after thread that are name-calling, personal attacks and insults, and full of piss and vinegar.

You don't see them making threads with glowing reports of Obama's record and what a brilliant job he has done as Pres.

Nope. Just attack Romney. Over and over. Call him names and curse him as if he's the worst human being to ever live.

It's laughable.

If Obama is so great...then STOP attacking Romney like you're insane and start talking about all the greatness that is Obama.

If you can.
