Agreed. 65% of the Mexican Drug Cartels money comes from marijuana. That means 2 out 3 Gang-bangers carry guns and bullets paid for with a weed I could grow in my backyard.

On top of that, we spend over $65 billion at the Federal level on enforcement of arcane marijuana laws. That's before you factor in costs for courts and incarceration.

We learned with alcohol, that if you criminalize something a lot of people want, you create criminal empires. Prohibition did not work with booze, and it's still killing a lot of people with the prohibition of hemp.

Actually, there are strains that do exactly that.

The common misconception is that marijuana has only one small range of effects. Besides a varying range of potency in different breeds, there are strains that are specifically targeted for certain physiological results.

Haven't smoked in almost a decade.

The persons who I would indulge with occasionally when I did back then were all corporate execs, business owners and we even had a lawyer or two in the mix.

The difference between the average joe who just wants to get high and professional persons who indulge on a more sophisticated basis is huge.

Different strains = different highs. When you have persons who are on a more cerebral level regarding what they put into their bodies, the game changes entirely.
