Gun nuts in a frenzy. Gun sales soar again after presidential election

I don't understand. Are guys like this stockpiling guns in order to sell them second - hand when Obama bans the sale of guns? After all, how many guns can one use at one time? Or maybe he thinks the ban will go on for years, and he may wear some of his guns out, so he wants plenty of backups? Kook.

Quote:
FORT WORTH -- Michael Hill has been stockpiling guns and ammunition for almost a decade.

But he's not done -- not since President Barack Obama was re-elected this month.

In a continuing trend that alarms gun control proponents, Hill and thousands of other Americans are buying up ammo, handguns and other firearms, citing concerns that Obama might push new regulations in his second term or that U.N. agreements might infringe on the U.S. gun market.

What has Obama done to keep people from their guns? I'd just like to know.

Nothing that I know of.

But I have noticed something odd. Over the last 4 years I've bought a number of guns and each time I have not received an ok from ATF. When you buy a gun your information is phoned into the ATF for a yes/no. They are supposed to respond within 5 days. If they don't the gun store can make their own decision to sell or not sell to the customer.

Does this mean they can at a later date disallow a purchase? And why have the program if a non response is also an answer? Just seems odd.

My mother in law claims that there are muslim invasion forces that will invade from the east and west coasts in early 2013, so she has bought an assload of guns and ammo. She has also bought a property and built a shelter there with a bunch of food stockpiled.
When i asked her where she got this invasion story from, she swears it was a program on Fox but I suspect she dreamed it.

Seems to me like every time a president is elected gun sales spike. In the mean time, the government doesn't want to even discuss own laws because they know a large majority of the public doesn't want them.

Nothing. I argued with a dipshit when I was canvassing for Obama. He wanted to know how any American could vote for Obama when he wants to take guns away. I let him know Obama hasn't banned guns, while Mitt Romney did while he was Governor of MA.

He said "I don't know about that" (because he was an imbecile).

"But Obama WOULD ban guns if he COULD!"

So he favored a gun-banning candidate over a candidate he knew WOULD ban guns someday.

Some people are just beyond help.

I bet the NRA riles people up to buy guns after every election out of fear and gets some sort of kickback from gun manufacturers.

A lot of people are concerned over the broad wording of the united nations arms treaty that the Obama administration started pushing right after being re-elected. It leaves a lot of holes that could be used to strip us of some constitutional rights. Only time will tell.

think about that

My father-in-law was complaining about the "higher taxes on $250,000" thing -- and I tried explaining that it was marginal tax, meaning every dollar OVER 250,000 would be taxed at a higher rate. It didn't change his mind about Obama. He still thinks he's the devil.

You would think a person making that much money would know what a marginal tax rate is.
