Anyone else a little tired of motherfucking Christmas? - GoFuckYourself.com

In the past few years I've really been starting to dislike Christmas. Same thing every year...my wife spends $1500 buying gifts for people we barely care about or even like. I'd rather put that money in my 401k, or buy a 65 inch TV -- but she has to make sure her Aunt Judy gets a new set of expensive frying pans from Bed Bath and Beyond.

Then there's a the Christmas holiday parties, where I have to get into endless conversations that I can't find a way to disengage from after the topics have dried up.

I need to jump off this Merry-go-round for just one year.

Use this spot to bitch and moan.

haha yeah maybe. There's people I enjoy and I do have a few laughs, but too many who are just giant bores who talk about their finance jobs, acting like they're actually doing something worthwhile -- when really they're just straight up fucking crooks. There's that.

Yes, but I'd give anything to be back in the situation where I *had* to spend time with the in-laws, aunts, etc. Seeing your kids for a few hours xmas eve/xmas morning then going back to an empty house is far shittier than having to donate some time once a year to people you may find boring, imo. Those people may really enjoy your company, even if not vice versa, so cheer up and know the crappy part doesn't last long and is ALWAYS over at some point

I like Christmas, because I love all of the lights.

Christmas lights remind me of my friends...they all hang together, only about half of them work, and the ones that do, aren't that bright.

The thing I hate most about Xmas is the shopping crowds. I can't take large crowds anymore - just a few minutes and I start getting ansy and feelin' the need to get the hell outta there.

Not even doing Christmas here, other than dinner with a couple of family members. My son is with his mom this christmas so I sent his gift to her place out of state, did see the point in really doing anything else.

Was nice to not have to deal with any shopping crowds and all that other bullshit.

That is the main thing I cant stand about this fucking holiday. I saw people in Target acting like selfish idiots, pushing, shoving and RIPPING things off the shelf. The parking lots are a great place for a traffic jam and I drive a big truck, so even the outskirts of the car parks are crowded.

By the way what you hate more is commercialization of Christmas. It should not be about presents, it should be about being together with family (not only close one, but also with those that you see once a year or so).
