It wasn't bad, there was also an older version from the 60's that stared John Wayne.

I was ehh about the new one; I think I need to watch the original again then do the new one again and see if my opinion changes.

They are pretty close to the same, but of course the modern version is a bit more grity vs the older more kinder version of the late 60's.

The modern remake of 3:10 to Yuma is worth watching too. One of the better old western remakes.

That's one of the ares I wish Hollywood would revisit, (westerns) but not by just redoing old movies but making some new ones.

I liked it, too. I wasn't totally sold on the little girl, though. She seemed to be a little too fearless - strained credibility, and as a viewer I wasn't feeling it.

Overall, though, I agree.

I saw The Hobbit over the weekend. Thought it was great.

you are right, which in turn makes a completely unbelievable character and the movie lame. It had strong elements, with good performances, especially bridges, but it didn't have the heart of the old one at all, and i'm not exactly a purist either.

hobbit was good, more so for fans. django unchained was damn good except for complete redundancy of an ending--was almost ruined for me by morons talking back to the screen though.

QFT

I expected it to suck bad but went ahead and gave it a play on Netflix a couple of months ago and was very impressed. Well written and well acted. I think it is better/more enjoyable than the one with john Wayne

Jeff Bridges was incredible - the girl was kind of stupid. I couldn't suspend disbelief for that character. She needed to be humanized and made plausible, and the actress did neither, and was still annoying me with her put-on accent at the end. Matt Damon was Jason Bourne - 500 with an accent but it wasn't jarring and went with the story.

With a better actress that would have been a truly great movie.

One thing that sticks with me - in that one scene in the woods, how does Jeff Bridges pack so much menace into the look he gives the guy that walks up on them? For an actor who does laid back roles all the time, that is the most menace I've ever seen in one expression. Great actor. Unlike most he deserved his nomination.

I was talking about the acting. I was pretty sure that was obvious, but wasn't aware that some people here still have a soft spot exposure in their skulls, my apologies.

it was allright, somehow it wasnt totally satisfying though. Felt like there wasn't happening enough in the movie. Kinda felt like foreplay, but not followed by fucking & cumming.

That movie sucked.

Coen brothers are a fucking joke. They make Tarantino look like Stanley Kubrick.
