People who run clips4sale stores

Have you noticed anything different with the traffic? My three main stores all have a huge drop in traffic over the last three days.
Started the month with store 1 average 800 hits a day, then around 1000 and the last three days it has been 175-250.
Been doing this for ten years so I know all the shit to do. The other stores have an 80% drop as well. I send no traffic to my stores and never have.
Sales are still doing ok considering this drop. Just wondered if others have noticed...

my hits dropped pretty significantly since the 12th but I haven't updated in days, so I'd expect that tbh

You'd think horny single dudes at home on Valentine's Day would create some additional traffic...but, with the randomness of the internet and traffic...who knows.
My sales have been on par this month, compared to the last few months, so far anyway.

I noticed the same thing with traffic. And overall sales have been great this month. But the past 2 days traffic was super low.

I was wondering what kind of traffic one could expect to see from c4s. I just started the store and went live. I've made updates every few hours, spreading out the categories that best match the clips I've added. I was kind of surprised to only see 163 unique on Friday, and 156 yesterday. Granted "18-19" is probably not the true target market for c4s, so I might be wasting my time there

Ok so a week into the adventure of c4s and I'm not sure that I've got the hang of it yet.

Thur 95 hits
Fri 163 hits
Sat 156 hits
Sun 128 hits
Mon 191 hits
Tue 139 hits
Wed 117 hits

I'm close to the $50 payout. I have like 50+ clips up, so like 7 updates a day, which seems high to me, but since this is content I already have on my site, there's not a lot of processing to get it on c4s. So I have maybe 9 hours into this experiment with store setup, and adding the clips.

I'm just wondering from anyone else doing the clips stores, do those traffic numbers look about right for this early into this test ??

To keep up with 7 to 12 updates a day, I'd need to add 2 full videos each day, plus breakup the previous videos I've already got on the site into 3 to 5 clips. So maybe an hour per day, so 7 hours per week. Even if I can double my sales, still under $20/hr for my time

I guess the real test will be after a month of updates, I can go back and start adding clips that are just re-encoded into other formats i.e. mp4 wmv, at that point I'd have less than 4 hours per week to get the updates made, which would push return around $25/hr.

I see that there are a couple of guys here on gfy that shut down their stores in the last week or so. Can anyone comment on what their return for time and energy spent is on c4s ?? If you'd rather not post it, you can email me <tim at tfcash.com> Thanks.

Making regular updates each day, but still only hitting around 150 unq a day. The 4th & 5th I did a blast again to fill back up catagories that had gotten close to dropping off.

Date Total Hits

Still only doing $10/hr in return for time put in

Anyone else still doing c4s ???

Nothing against clips4sale but it use to be really good and easy to make money.
but a lot of years ago.

The interface is the same, the site looks poorly designed, it is slow to navigate, lots of the exact same vids from multiple stores are going through the system and finally the video quality of some of the stuff is very poor.Did I say the site is poorly designed with really bad graphic interface?

Overall if I was a consumer I would go to a tube. faster, easier to navigate and same poor quality video but it is free and of course posted multiple times.

If it weren't for the fact that I'm remastering these videos anyway, it wouldn't be worth my time and energy spent to start up a store with the content that I have. Once I get a number of core videos up, and can start reusing the content by just making new encodes (i.e. wmv, mov, mp4) with the descriptions and face files already made it should be pretty easy sailing.

I really can't say anything bad about clips4sale. I've made some money running stores, they always pay out on time and their support responds back quickly.

However, with that being said there are clearly a lot of changes happening there and I think I know what's going on.

Back last January of 2012 when I started a bunch of stores with content I had backed up, I made about $5,000 the first month with less than half the content uploaded across a number of stores. I figured I could expect the same the next month and then something weird happened. I was use to having like 20-30 emails when I'd wake up on the weekends and one weekend had ZERO sales. Either a Saturday or Sunday when I woke up, and a few clip orders trickled in during the day and night, but it made no sense when I was doing 4-5 updates across 15-20 stores with new content. Traffic was cut in half and sales that month were about $2,400 and half of the previous month. It leveled off around $1,000 a month with traffic going down.

I heard some stores making ungodly amounts of money per month like $30,000 and $40,000 a month which I thought is not even remotely possible, but I was wrong. Some of these stores only update once a day at MOST. If your average clip is 9 minutes long and priced at $9.99, in order to make $40,000 for the month with a 60% payout for each clip sold you'd have to sell

$9.99 * .60 = $5.99 per clip sold. $40,000 divided by $5.99 = 6,677 clips sold for the month! LOL which comes out to about 222 clips sold per day. This blows my mind and almost seems impossible, but the top stores have done this amount per month, even with less than seven updates a week. I don't get it. I've also heard of stores who haven't updated in like five years still making $500 a month. WTF? In order to break into the top 50 you have to be around $4,400 a month right now.

I think what they are doing is promoting certain stores who they deem to have the best, quality content for their buyers. They are helping stores who don't update as much get that "pop" to the front page. Traffic and sales are at an all time high on clips4sale and what they don't want is some guy with a ton of low quality spamming with updates 50 times a day and then a surfer buys a clip, hates it, then doesn't come back. It makes sense from their perspective. I noticed that sales use to correlate to updates, which really isn't the case anymore. Traffic is being funneled to stores deemed "high quality".

Every time I open a store it always gets stuck in that no man's land of $500-$1,000 a month and then when I hear stores with similar content making $10,000 + per month it's annoying as fuck lol. While market saturation has a lot to do with this (more producers, more models becoming producers, etc.) it doesn't really seem to affect the top stores, which rarely move.

While I think a few years ago you could open a store and make a decent buck, those times are over. You can however make a decent amount of money but you'll have to put in some serious work finding new talent, making catchy animated GIFs, writing long SEO type descriptions, and finding the right niche among other things.

So how are they doing this ?? I watch the front page, along with the category pages that I have content for, and it looks like all the videos in the top 12 are new postings, do you mean the banner at the top of the page, and the listings on the right hand side ??

It appears that they are adding clips in low quality formats and burying them into the middle pages of their clips to give the, 10-15 updates a day in either the same or different, but related, categories

heres a few tips....

1. vanilla content isnt going to do well find a niche that works for you

2. dont use porn girls, use amateurs

3. send traffic to your store, dont just depend on their traffic. C4S is very fair in that they let you watermark your stuff and link to your site even so sending them traffic HELPS YOU and it doesnt hurt you.

Neil is absolutely the fairest guy in this biz, C4S has the best split by far of anyone, dont just expect to dump a lot of videos there and make money off his traffick...you get out of your store what you put into it.

thats all free advice...anything more will cost you

EXACTLY show me a guy criticizing the design of a site that is fast, efficient and making millions...and I will show you a genuine idiot.

Well things are running a bit smoother now, I have a script that lets me know my spot on all the cat's I have content for so I only have to check it once a day to see if I need to add anything to keep in the top spots. And I've got enough full videos up that I can start use the re-encoded versions for updates.

I added another domain name as a watermark to some content that I bought a while back, it's a fresh domain with no traffic, but it's getting 5 to 10 type-ins a day now, which I can only attribute to c4s traffic.

I have noticed some stores that use what I'd call feeder stores, they have a main site, but then have a second store like "two minute clips" that they add all their split up clips too. I assume that is to keep the main store tidy, can anyone comment on if they do this and if it helps any ???

In that same thought process, does anyone go back and clean-up your stores after the fact ?? I already have almost 400 clips in the store, but less than 100 of those are full videos, the rest are the 3 to 5 min splits of main videos. Do any of you spend time cleaning up old stuff that is just copies of the main videos you add ??

Thanks for any input!!

Yes, the design is absolute shit, and this holds true in spite of the fact that it's a very successful website.
