Spam Test gmail vs hotmail
I did a little experiment.
I signed up for a gmail account and a hotmail account, and didnt give the email address to anyone or link it on any site. Gmail Account had zero spams. Hotmail Account had a little over 5,000 in the two months

I use gmail for everything. Very rare that spam gets through.
I have a hotmail account but can't really use it because of the amount of spam that gets through.

I find Gmail's spam filter too aaggressive and have to turn it off so I don't miss anything important.

I have a googlemail.com account, its 9 years old and it's used daily, still today no spam, I mean absolutely nothing. On the other hand in 2010 I opened a Facebook account and created a Hotmail email address for it, I log into it from time to time to check on it and I have 11,000+ emails and nearly all of them are spam. Viagra, dating, free products. Same thing for my AOL email account spam galore.
