Paxum withdrawal in Czech and Austria
Going to travel with my Paxum card there - those are some questions i've got?
Is it possible to get USD? What are ATM fees and limits? What's USD - EUR exchange rate in the ATM? What banks are better to use? |

No it's not possible to get USD-you will get Koruna in CZ,and EUR in austria.Exchange rate depend on bank which ATM you would use.To determine that take a peek at websites of banks. So use the one which have best rate.

Atm fee is something like 1 usd per withdrawl here in czech republic. I have withdrew at once around 1.5k usd in czk, but i think its possible a bit higher.
Btw. we can go for some beer with some other webmasters once you are in Prague, if you want.... |

thx guys. it has been like to years since atms in my country begun to display how much fee do they take before i withdraw - do you have the same?
and most of atms in my country have very little amount of cash to be withdrawal, like $500-700 at once. so i have to visit some few atms at bank's central office to take more at once. do you have the same? |

Many of ATMs will ask you if you want conversion with their guaranteed exchange ratio or you want to keep the exchange ratio on your card bank, Paxum in this case. Never use this guaranteed option because all czech banks are quiet good thieves and use conversion ratio which is 2-7% worse for us then Paxum's one. Check daily exchange rates for czech crowns (CZK) at http://www.exchange.cz/ second column from the right shows you how many CZK you can get if you exchange cash.

Yes there is some treaty between banks about that, i could throw you a link but no point to bother. Also possible how Slovenia have same restriction since it was showing that on ATM how 400 eur is max.

thx guys
have any of you checked USD > EUR exchange rate? is it fair? i know that bank exchange rate thing, but in my country it's fair, so there's very little lose and MasterCard's rate is not that good. good you have told me that, because i would use suggested bank's rate. |
