:mad Good morning, Tumblr

What the living ARRRGGGG

just read this a few minutes ago, and: that's an awful opinion piece.

"Topic: Censorship" lol, righto.

Sucks for affs monetizing tumblr, and I feel sorry for anyone losing $ over it, but to talk solely about the piece, it is a piece alright, a piece of irrational shit.

I can't use your free service to put all my porn on! Censorship! etc

It's tougher to network when the blog is not searchable by anyone who isn't already a follower of the blog.

Why the fuck do people keep using free services and then whining when shit doesn't turn out well? Use your own hosting and your own domains and then you're in control.

It's not entirely free. Plus, I don't think I need to explain the benefits of a heavily populated social networking site vs. a stand alone, hosted blog. Or do I....?

the good tumblr blogs people have bookmarked, and have the links sent around, so that will still have no effect on the policies.

Not everyone hit by it is selling porn. In fact with the other policy changes including banning almost every blog with ads there isn't a traditional direct (or non blackhat) way to sell porn on Tumblr. You can't regularly put up affiliate links or you'll get banned soon. Even if you are promoting your own paysite you are at risk of getting banned if you link to your site all the time. You can only be subtle and market indirectly if you expect to stay around for more than a month or two.

I have a few Tumblr blogs that while they have a link or two to some of my adult sites as the legitimate source of the content and for more information aren't so much about milking profit from it as much as they are about an interest. Not everyone affected are blackhats putting out 500 new tumblr splogs a day using 100 rotated proxies so they can sell dating and cams. Not all of us are spammers.

It's their right to do it but it really is censorship in that it prevents the content from being seen by anyone who is not logged in to a tumblr account with safe mode disabled as explained here http://www.ghacks.net/2013/07/19/how...nts-on-tumblr/ Yahoo did the same thing with Adult Yahoo Groups many years ago. That decision probably cost me $500,000+.

These sites are just in it for the free content you provide them. They'll monetize it later if they're not already, plus use / sell personal, browsing and tracking information if they're not already. I'm not alleging anything, I'm just saying what seems to be obvious so.. let time tell.

They aren't necessarily good. It's just that they are older and were able to gather up followers before the policy change. I think many of the older blogs are still in the Google too but the spider isn't able to access them due to robots.txt so I would think eventually those rankings will be gone soon.

I wish more adult affiliates thought like you, then Tumblr would never have done this.

Just a heads up if anyone in here runs Tumblr blogs and is worried about them being deleted, I have a service you can sign up for, add a meta tag to your blog, and it'll keep track of them and let you know if any of them have been deleted or not.

But then you won't get the amazing tumblr traffic. The reason why people use tumblr is for the traffic.

If anything people can use blogger.com or pornblogspace.com however they don't because those websites are shit.

Tumblr on the other hand is a traffic machine.

Just a heads up anybody who uses this, the system only scans for removal once a day as of right now, so once you add your blog, it'll scan it tomorrow morning. I am working to change the scan times and add the ability to scan them manually individually and in bulk.

I am surprised they haven't banned some of the tumblr's that are still out there to be Honest ... they are infested with CCbill affiliate links.... on image post, text, links, side bars...

I checked my GA stats and my search traffic is still going strong on my Tumblr blogs, so it's still coming in for sure...

Nice video btw Elli ... http://www.youporn.com/watch/7911213/elli-ellinude-com/

Whoa, whoa...slow down there, player. I was highlighting the fact that I didn't need to explain. Surely - being a seasoned affiliate - you already understand the benefits of a "free" social network that already has it's own traffic and why it is advantageous to traffic boys/girls. No need to swing our dicks in each others faces....

The day will arrive when google and other search engines will delist porn sites alltogether, and the day is comming when ISP's will start to block porn as a default. The minority do not want porn on the internet and they always shout the loudest and win

Dont matter what you think its allready happening over here in the UK

Less porn for you: UK ISPs will enact auto-filtering of adult content by the end of 2013

Relax, you can still watch porn in the United Kingdom, but it’s about to become a bit harder. As reported in Wired, Internet service providers (ISPs) in the country will “make filtering a standard option across industry.” If you don’t act, parental filters will come “pre-ticked.”

Therefore, if you don’t want your Internet connection to be quite so vanilla, you’ll need to opt-out. ISPs are implementing the filtering system without a legal requirement, so we will not see a law enforcing the new policy.

The kicker to this is that the system will not only be put in place for new accounts, but for existing accounts as well. This is pervasive. Claire Perry, a Member of Parliament, described how one might opt-out of the system: “We will have automatic put on, so if you turn the filter off at 9pm, it turns on again at 7am.”

Thus, even if you turn the damn thing off, it will come back on before your first cuppa.

Alright, you can now scan all sites individually, retrieve the meta tag again if you need it, and also scan all sites, on top of the system scanning it daily.

Thank Itchy for these suggestions and helping me test them.

If this ever happened in America the scumbag ISPs would be charging a $30-$50 a month "adult content fee" in order to opt out.

It's total bullshit of course. It should be OPT IN.

I still remember that.

We had 30,000+ members in our adult Yahoo group back in the day with over 1 million views. I recall going through the Yahoo Clubs to groups switchover.

Man those were the days. I wish I would have hit them about five years before I did. If you knew the tricks it was a gold mine. Like for instance how putting spaces or some funny ASCII character before your site title in the links would put you at the top of the links list or how the calendar feature could be used to automatically post a message once every couple days automatically (forever!) after setting it up. I must have been personally responsible for over 1,000,000 links and messages there. But don't judge me too harshly I kept it in the adult groups and tried to stay relevant to the group.

Yahoo really fucked that up and they clearly don't know what they are doing. It's a shame. To this day it's a sitting duck for spam. It still could be useful for people if they got the spam under control but they either don't have a clue or they don't know how to do it so everyone left.

We need to learn that there is a place for adult per se. And there is a place for non-adult. We should also consider the difference of both.
