I hate to always be bitching but...
had issues with one of my computers IOLO "advanced support" claimed they could fix it and if not I would be refunded.
Weeks later, many programs broken and numerous problems later the original problem exists with a host of new ones. When trying to get a refund they first beg you they can fix it, more days lost, nothing fixed. Now they just hang up when asking for a refund. Got Amex on the phone and while doing so called IOLO, Amex heard the treatment as they hung up on me again. Problem solved. I never would buy anything I can't put on a real card that backs me up. |

Amex ALWAYS has your side as the consumer, and I've even had an instance where they refunded me and allowed the merchant to keep the funds. Anytime I have to deal with companies like that, I give them a hard deadline and tell them I'll contact my credit card provider and issue a dispute... they quickly listen and help

Any online business that takes Amex is a fool. Maybe it's different for tangibles where people have to sign for things versus a virtual product, but once you've been burned for tens of thousands of dollars as a business, you learn to stop accepting it. |

What would have happened if I made a virtual payment or used a Paxum type card?
I have a client that has people try almost daily to beat them up for "compensation" because they were not happy with the service. What the client still does not understand is that handing a customer $200 back is far better then a bad rating on the internet so you will lose Tens of Thousands over a year. More often than not IMHO, the customer was right that the service or product has issues. They refuse to take Amex and as a consumer, I would never use them if I didn't know them. For anyone not familiar with IOLO, they make the System Mechanic Software. Funny thing is when they went to fox the computer they never used their own product but the freeware "Tweaking.com" |
