How to get telemarketers and bill collectors to stop calling you

I was getting literally 50+ calls a day because I'm late paying a few things.. three companies were calling me all of those times and I couldn't block the fools or anything. If it wasn't that I was on some horrible list, hello good morning please give to this, please buy that.

Jesus, you know, I send them all money when ever I have it, from time to time. It has been the best I can do lately. Calling me 20 times a day isn't going to make me any richer, feel me?

So then I forwarded all of my calls to a disconnected telephone number for three days. I cancelled that, two days ago, and I haven't had a call from any of them since.

Being poor and fucking shit all up for yourself really sucks- but once you're in shit it DOES teach you to be creative and to come up with solutions.

I have a dial-up modem hooked into my computer and run some answering machine software that will play whatever message I want to whatever numbers I specify. I don't need to worry about bill collectors since I pay my bills, but it works great for telemarketers.

If they call me once I just manually block them and the next time they call they get sent to a "this number is disconnected" message. Or I can type out whatever message I want and the computer will read it to them, like "Fuck off Centennial Windows, I don't want any of your fucking windows so quit calling here you fucking cunts."

It must be really confusing for them because it reads it to them in such a pleasant female voice.

In Quebec (maybe whole Canada) you have the right to tell them on the first call (or any call) to ask them to contact you only by mail. If they don't respect it you can make a complaint at police for harassement.

Anyway... pay your damn bills...

auto dialers are easy to fool what you do is on your answering machine record an operator intercept tone thats the three tones you hear before the announcement that the number is disconnected after the tone leave your normal message

The dialer software will hear this intercept tone and automatically mark the number as disconnected...worked great on telemarketers when i had a land line...way better than telling them dont call because your number wont be resold

Simple. When they call you, tell them that "you" don't live there anymore. A bum tenant who didn't pay his bills and kicked him out.

Look up the number to the local Pizza Hut and give them that number as a new number that you left. Tell them you are certain he works there, but under a different name.

They will stop calling

literally 50+ calls a day? I call bullshit, unless bill collectors use tactic to call you 10 times a day in order to intimidate you. I know some bill collector companies use similar tactics.

It's the original creditor most likely, they can do whatever they want. Once it goes into collections with a 3rd party company, that's a different story.

I did some advertising work years ago for a guy who specialized in this area, then learned more on my own and helped friends... then discovered a successful business model based on helping people with bad credit to fix or remove negative items, including stopping calls. He ended up selling me "rights" to distribute content and information as he was getting into another biz.

Then I found out that people with bad credit always have a problem paying their bills and spent to much time chasing them around for payment lol

This might work on bill collectors who are in Quebec, but it does nothing to block anyone outside of Quebec.

Do this :

Answer the phone and be polite, tell them you just got paid and you are ready to make your payment, etc. Get around to the point of giving them the payment details and then ask for their direct telephone number, and tell them you'll call them right back.

then go to http://www.fartogram.com

Choose your torture than have some fun.

That sounds like a huge waste of time. I have nice short conversations and ONLY with people who are

1. Going to buy something from me
2. Going to suck my dick
3. Going to cook for me
4. Going to put me in jail if I don't talk with them

Where I live is the other way around. Original creditors are "polite" and slow (no multiple calls). When it goes to 3d party bill collector then they use various intimidation tactics (including multiple calls).

I'm registered on the national DO NOT CALL list. https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/insnum-regnum-eng

I still get the odd call, but whenever a # calls that I don't recognize I simply don't pick up. Ever. If it's important they'll leave a message. If it's something that matters to me I'll call them back. Other than that this telemarketer phone problem is a thing of the past for me.

Too Many Calls

It varies, but some days can get 20+ calls, despite the Do Not Call List and an unpublished number. It's the land line and we occasionally give out that number to some business or government agency we have to deal with.
Have to have the land line for the alarm. Phone is set to silent ring, so we never hear it. Do check the messages, just in the rare chance it's important.
Unwanted calls seem to be
1- Bill collectors for unknown people or the prior owner of the number and I've had the number for 6+ years.
2- Local telemarketers who call up to 20 times a day.
3- Probably the same company, they spoof dozens of phone numbers. It's to lower my credit card debt or refinance my mortgage. You can tell it's the same company as the recorded voice uses different names, but it the same woman.
