Solid inexpensive laptop to edit HD with?
Yes.. this thread again, forgive me.
I am not very hardware oriented, and thus I trust the advice of those who know what they speak of. Ok guys, I'm looking to edit a bit of hd video.. Not a huge workload, but fairly consistently. So I'm needing something with at least an i5 in it. I was going to make my first transition to a mac but decided against it. I just need a good solid dependable laptop that is fairly inexpensive to edit HD with. I really don't need much more use than that, as I don't really use my computers that hard in the first place. Basically just an editor, dream weaver, and photoshop. Black Friday is coming up, and I was hoping someone was wise to a killer deal to be had. I would be extremely appreciative, and post some pics when I get it just so you know I'm not asking for shits and giggles. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks fellas ![]()

almost any current laptop can do that - but i would strongly recommend to buy one with a 17" screen and 1920x1080 resolution
and any laptop that comes with that, should also have enough power.

I recommend this: HP Envy as it has UBS 3 ports and great display. Build quality is also amazing and people are always mistaking mine for an Apple powerbook.

My last few laptops have been ASUS and have been very happy with them, I used to have an Alienware before that but I hear they aren't as good since Dell bought them out. Best Buy usually has a few good deals every week in the newspaper inserts, and there is usually a decent ASUS in there for less than $300. However the problem with buying from stores is they will have a few laptops available from every major vendor, but these laptops are usually not the best ones that the vendors sell for the money. They are selling the laptops that they got a good deal on. I would go to Best Buy to test out the different brands and see if you like their keyboard layouts, etc. Decide on a brand and then go to a website like Newegg or Amazon and check out the different models for the best specs and price and make your purchase. I did desktop support for a major University for 20+ years and I believe this is the best formula for new purchases.
