Gunman dead, 2 injured in Colorado high school shooting - GoFuckYourself.com

(RNN) - Police report that the gunman has been found dead inside Arapahoe High School in Centennial, CO which is part of the Littleton, CO school district.

The shooter died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson.

"We know the suspect was a student at Arapahoe High School," Robinson said. "We have his identity and we are currently in contact with his family."

During a news conference, police reported there were two victims. There is one student who was taken to Littleton Adventist Hospital in serious condition. A second student was wounded, but Robinson indicated the wounds are not serious and may not be a gunshot wound.

Police said the shooter was reportedly targeting a specific teacher.

"No other weapons were found other than the one that was used in the shooting," Robinson said. "The student identified a specific teacher at Arapahoe High School that he was interested in confronting. That teacher was informed of the situation and exited the school quickly."

Whitney Riley, a 15-year-old student at the school, barricaded herself in a sprinkler room with other students until they heard teachers telling others to run.

The evacuation of hundreds of students was calm and orderly. Students were taken to the track on campus where they were patted down and searched by law enforcement using metal detectors.

Students were evacuated and waited to be searched waited quietly with their hands over their heads. A pickup site for parents is at a nearby church.

"The response protocols around active shooters were put into place immediately," Robinson said. "The first deputy sheriffs and police officers that were on scene immediately entered the school to engage the shooter if they could locate that individual and also keep these students absolutely safe."

Robinson said the initial call came at 12:33 MT and the first report of shooter down came 14 minutes later.

they dont ban teenage driving because its money!

my high school they banned driving to lunch. some teens died driving fast and crazy. why dont they just start educating kids about guns?? dealing with anger and being picked on all that kind of shit that leads up to a kid killing kids.

i don't come across many crazy teenagers while driving

and there is plenty of people without the first clue on how to drive

good for insurance companies tho, so.. hospitals, car manufacturers..

They don't do that for two reasons. The main reason is money. Many schools barely have enough money to keep the doors open much less run a gun safety and awareness program and hire enough counselors that they can keep tabs on the kids and help those who show signs of needing help. The second is parents. If you started teaching kids about gun safety many parents would shit their pants.

Never mind the potential liability that it could open the school up to.

The problem is that it isn't up to the schools. It is up to the tax payers. The schools put out their budgets and the tax payers choose whether or not to approve it and give them the money they want. If they budget fails the schools are left to operate on a shoestring.

Maybe tax payers would be willing to pay more if the school put out a budget and made it clear what they were going to spend the money on. It might pass in some places and in others it likely wouldn't.

Of course it is likely too much to ask that parents be parents and make it difficult for their kids to get their hands on guns and if they think their kids are having issues they do something about it.
