How much should I sell one of my domains for?

I just had someone offer to buy one of my domains: www.SelfieSpace.com

How do I determine how much I should sell it for?

Should I ask him to make me an offer...or should I just come at him with a number?

First time doing a domain deal...so any input would be greatly appreciated

Our Buy It Now price would be $1250.00 payable through Escrow.com. Let us know if you wish to proceed. Thanks for the inquiry, (Your Name Here)

Have Luck

They obviously have a use for the name, I'm thinking they'll either go the 'fuckbook' route or turn it into an actual social network for selfies.

Either way, they contacted you, id start off with an email back asking what they wanted to offer and go from there, obviously if they low-ball, you will know they aren't serious about it.

On the other hand, if they offer a reasonable amount for it, more than your registration fees, earnings on the domain, etc then see if they will increase the offer slightly and close the deal as soon as you can.

Wouldn't it be smart negotiation tactic to lowball on the first offer is the seller is not giving his number first? Especially in domain market where prices are difficult to set and you may get a good deal if seller values domain lower than you.
Any negotiation experts to chime in?

Generally buyers don't offer their best price right off the bat. Sedo actually tells buyers not to offer their best price. Most sellers don't accept a first offer as well. I'm sure you'll find a few on both sides that do accept a first offer if the offer is solid or that do offer their best price but the minority of deals.

I've done okay over the years selling domains but it came from having the balls to shoot my prices and not giving a shit if a deal fell apart or not needing the money if I thought the domain name was worth more and offers flow in on the domain on a regular basis.

Why not just simply get a 3rd party to act on your behalf? Someone like Baddog for example?

He (Or someone else) could bang out the details, and it would be in their interests to get the BEST price possible, as they would be on a % basis? Of course - You would always have 'Final Say'....

In other words, instead of going it alone with no previous experience, hand the 'job' over to another person who HAS got experience?

Thats what I would do in your shoes...
