yep flat design is 'hot' right now. I also do mainstream design work and it makes that job alot easier. No more using the 'web 2.0' design styles, with multiple gradients/shiny effects.

that has been going for couple of years already
a kind of an official start was the moment adobe introduced new photoshop logo/icon then there were yahoo with new logo and microsoft with win 8 |
