Hi to all,
My name is Artem, and I am a Chief Editor of XXXtrailers. I have been working for already 7 years in post-production, and the last three years I’ve been specializing exclusively on trailers.
When I wrote an article “How to Create an Amazing Trailer” I received some comments that the topic is not enough covered. I am not a professional publicist, so I probably could not explain the importance of the things obvious to me in a small article. After I read the article again after some time, I realized that it doesn’t have enough real examples as well as the more detailed explanation. This very point and the fact that all the trailers in the industry are also undervalued made me start this series of articles.

This series of articles is only a personal opinion of the author. Please do not take criticism of trailers as criticism of their authors and theirs skills. It often happens that customers (employers) insist on those or other changes. The trailer is too extended and it discloses too much. By the third minute you can take off your pants and start to jerk off. Certainly, purchasing DVD will be out of the question.

The music is chosen very well, it is fully compatible with models’ dancing in the beginning. I really like the sound of the video going along with the logo from the first seconds. However, there is no synchronization of the music with the video. It would be much more interesting to make it more dynamic in time with the music. At 1:20 the transition plan is too associated with the previous and next scenes. At 1:29 the action has been intensified and this is good, however we see that the synchronization is still weak, and it is also lagging in relation to the music. It is not clear why so much time is devoted to one model. At 2:30 the action has been weakening, that would be better to do at the very end of the trailer. What comes next is just a video cutting.

I was really excited by multiple high-quality porn scenes, but most probably, it will be enough for me just watching the trailer. I wouldn’t buy it.

The size of the trailer is within the normal range, editing is interesting enough. However, there are not enough sex scenes - it's a porn movie anyhow.


If you can’t do without a disclaimer, then it would be better to put the soundtrack or sounds from the movie along with it. The transition from the logo into the film is very good and it looks naturally. 0:15-0:40 A lot of chatter. Besides presenting actors, it would be nice to introduce the viewer also with the background. The idea with titles is interesting, plus, the synchronization with the music enhances the effect. What is missing is the movement of those titles. The trailer has its own structure and it intensifies action till the very end. Pay attention to the lull at 0:50 - is not the action weakening, but rather its intensification. It is short and meaningful. In general, changes of sex pictures with scene frames generate more interest, but the repetition of frames of the same scenes can be taken as poverty of the movie, caused by lack of various movie scenes. But basically, it’s not bad.

Judging by the trailer, I can’t be ensured that I’ll see plenty of porn scenes. I will not buy.

This is an example of a great trailer. Brazzers managed to replicate the style of the original trailer, that is very important in parodies. I would like to see more quality sex scenes.

Already in the first part of the trailer you understand clearly that it's a porn video. It gives the viewer the idea about the place of the action, introduces actors, and writers. Its soundtrack also deserves special attention. At 0:31, in my opinion, the frame does not really match the color of the rest of the video. At 0:38 a gape separates a quieter part of the video from the action and emphasizes the difference. That’s cool! Focus your attention at titles getting launched with the music at 1:05, and what effect it makes. Also take notice of alternation of silence and sounds of the video. The synchronization with the music is not always perfect, but overall it’s good. The correct structure and whipping up tension until the very end, interesting editing.

Definitely, I am intrigued. I’ll buy this DVD.

It looks mediocre. It is simply a video cutting.

In this trailer the music also goes along with the logo, but it causes a sensation of a false start. In particular, it happens because one element passes into another one. It is definitely better to use the logo and the trailer separately. The red titles are hardly readable, and it is better not to use them upon switching scenes. The viewer can not figure out where to look at. One scene should contain one title. Rough color correction and vignetting are too visible, and glares are needless. Blur at the edges just spoils the picture. Next comes just video cutting of sex without a structure and ideas. At 0:33 weakening action finally breaks the storyline. And it is very clear that it is difficult to keep a high rhythm, specified from the very beginning. As a minimum, the middle and the end should be swapped.

I won’t buy.

The intrigue is in its idea, but on the whole, it is similar to the previous trailer.
When a logo appears, you hear a mixture of the logo sound and the sound of the movie. It’s better to use just one sound. There is an interesting sally in the beginning, readable titles and the best synchronization with the music. Further the structure is broken, the action intensifies then weakens. In the second half of the trailer the sense of rhythm is very weak, and also the music is not perfectly chosen. A fresh start at 1:21 looks positive, but then it’s all about the same.

I will not buy it.
