Rolling gun battle in Sacramento

Seems we have some kind of a rolling gun fight locally where I live. Started in Sacramento with a single officer being shot, multiple car chases, multiple car jackings, now four people have been shot (three officers, one civilian), and they seem to have them cornered in a house in Auburn, California.

They believe he is armed with an assault rifle.

Local police here town just flew down main street, and they just announced my kid's school is on lock down. (I'm not concerned, this was most likely because they were heading in our general direction but they are far away now.)

Turns out my kid's school is not in lockdown, great. But cops are still going crazy out here, sirens everywhere heading out to Auburn.

Lincoln is safe; Sacramento is rather ghetto really.

Crime happens everywhere. A few years ago I was sitting in my home office here on a Sunday morning when suddenly cops flooded my street and ran into the house across the street. Turns out three men broke into the house thinking it was empty, when a sixteen year old boy was home.

GFY is just filled with so much hate.

Sacramento is in fact pretty much Ghetto. Where I live, Lincoln, does if fact have the county dump and is in fact in the middle of no where. At the same time, it's very nice here living out in the middle of no where. We have all of the modern conveniences (Target, etc) and just outside of town is.... Lots of nothing.

Richard does tend to over-generalize a lot.
But in his defense Sacramento definitely
has some ghetto neighborhoods like any
big city but also has some high-end
beautiful parts of town. It's got a nice
mix of country and city that you don't
find in a lot of larger cities.

Sacramento is just like any city of the same size - some of it is nice, some of it is ghetto. I just avoid the bad parts.

Here is the interesting part... People have complained that small town local police departments have militarized and have no need for armored vehicles... Yet here we have a very small town (Auburn, California, has 14k people), three officers shot, and a man with an assault rifle on the loose.

Suddenly armored vehicles just became very important in my area.

I've been to both the good parts, the good parts are very good, while the bad parts aren't as bad as some other cities like LA
