For anyone that has a running site on WordPress, I found this free plugin that helped me optimize thousands of pictures on my WP blogs.
The average optmization percent was about 30% Just my 2 cents... |

They optimize JPEG, PNG and GIF? Lossless? Just wonder, how exactly they are doing that

I use JPEG Optimizer for that and recreate all WP thumbs manually to get them sharp, contrasted and more colourful.

wpengine.com does not allow adult content.
I have never used Wordpress specialized hosts, and never had problems with normal hosting companies with Wordpress sites. What do you think the benefits are for hosting Wordpress in specialized hosting company? |

I don't run adult WP sites so this doesn't effect me. There are plenty of people here who also run mainstream sites. In the case of WPEngine, they say there is no need for cache plugins, in fact, they do not allow them. I've been considering trying them out so I'm looking for feedback from anybody who has used them or similar services. |

Lots of things can be done to speed up the wordpress website, I usually start with Nginx, php5-fpm, mysql , memcache, fastcgi cache as a setup, im sure im forgetting some other stuff. Then it depends on various other elements in your theme, image sizes matter to a point but also offloading some of that to a free cdn like cloudflare.
after you feel like your set run your site though GTmetrix | Website Speed and Performance Optimization and then look at their suggestions, some of them cant easily be done depending on theme and blocking javascript but you dont have to have it prefect, but if your under 80% or so you have lots of room for improvement it might be a plugin , it might be making sure your stack is optimized for what your doing then maybe offloading some stuff to a cdn. Their is no real one answer, of course not being an idiot and having 1 meg image files is always a good start (not saying this is you but i find this often when dealing with clients) |

Photon from jetpack doens't lossy/losslessly optimize images as far as I know.
It looks like some of your images could be optimized: https://shortpixel.com/free-demo/ima...o-15.jpg#image https://shortpixel.com/free-demo/sit...diosporno.com/ |
