They have to be buying something because the tubes keep going. Revenue has to come from somewhere in order for companies to buy ads on tubes and keep them going.

So are people still buying paysite memberships but at a lower rate?
Are they buying hookup personals memberships? chat tokens? cam tokens? Pills?

In thinking of leaving adult a friend told me that "Sex always sells, theres always money in it" so Im just trying to figure out where to focus on. any advice?

They are still paying. Look at the tubes...quality is shit...the volume of porn gets them there, but to see anything quality...and in "HD" you need to buy a membership to the premium section. Many buyers are aware of this, and I think the trend will continue.

There will always be guys willing to yank it to low res content that they have seen 100 times. Some of them could be customers, some not.

As an affiliate times are tougher so perhaps it's best to focus on either those areas where affs still have some growth potential (cams, dating) or to become an Owner yourself. But being a Program Owner/paysite webmaster is a LOT of fucking work, tho Ownership has its' privelages.

So really it all comes down to how much you want to work, how hard and how long. Maybe you have a bankroll and want to just throw money at buying traffic and sending it to Sponsers. But whatever you choose just remember that while "sex sells" nothing is easy (anymore).

I think My Free Cams is an excellent example of you not needing to put everything behind a paywall - especially in the cam industry. you have to think whether it is rational to devote time, energy and resources selling in a market where you can't conceive of anyone paying for anything. there are products out there people actually want to buy. find those on the way up, not the way down.

and also before there say for example 1000 affiliates and 700 programs to promote from now there are say 800 affiliates trying to compete to promote 20 programs.

Some of my big spenders that drop hundos month after month on cams spend most of their time talking to the girl in private as it's more of a virtual girlfriend over the actual sexual act of watching them fuck themselves. I've only used Cams.com in the past and now Streamate pretty exclusively over the years never used chaturbate or any of the others that aim at highlighting the free business model as it's the same concept of tubes of let's give everything away and sell adspots.

WELL let's see how that site progresses before we declare it finished or a 'success' (which I am hoping it is!). But I agree it's all about the paysites BECAUSE....drum roll please....it's the ONLY place where actual filmed CONTENT is still being produced. DVD sales? OK a little bit, but mostly it's still paysites. And I think the Industry is finally (finally?) figuring out that if paysites die then traffic dies, revenue dies, the entire Industry fades.
