I've looked at examples of both.. maybe the users are challenged but to me they all look a bit shit.
Just use a fucking $80 pocket canon and edit it.

The iPhone makes much better images than any sub $100 point and shoot. The same is likely for most higher end Android phones too.

I've have to disagree, just look at the lens size alone...

Yeah, I had a guy tell me that you don't need a processor in a car, that equalizers and processing apps on smartphones will do the same thing. Idiot.
The phone doesn't have the circuitry built in to accomplish what a true processor can accomplish. Yes, you can digitally enhance any sound in many ways, but it will not produce the same quality results that one is looking for. Otherwise what would be the point. Same as bad lighting can be corrected in photoshop, but it will never replace the use of proper lighting to begin with. |

Going to have to disagree.
My sub $100 canon can definitely take better photos than any iphone. I have a professional photographer friend who from time to time on his blog for his woodwork just uses his new iphone and edits them in post to look great.. but when I edit my sub $100 canon in post they look a lot better. I have no doubts the cameras in these new phones combined with these types of apps and post editing can produce amazing photos considering. But all the images I just browsed through both apps looked like shit.

Same with the audio statement above... sure you can have some manual control over your music, but don't assume it takes the place of the real deal.
