Been a long time from what I understand, currentlysober Santa came through and shit just piled up there.

As I mentioned above, tech issues and an unfortunate illness. But the light at the end of the tunnel is brighter than Burning Man.

Jesse, I just got paid, and it's with the wrong, 1/100 commissions

Looks like it wasn't just a display issue after all

Hey guys, yep, we're seeing that on our end as well. Hang tight, we're trying to have it resent out by Friday.

Hi, Jesse
What's up with stats in beta? Not showing any data after 12/22/16. How visitors and sales can be traced? And when this issue is going to be fixed?

Yep. We're aware. It's a display issue not a data issue. Everything has tracked correctly but for some reason isn't populating in the stats. I spoke with tech an addressed this in a separate thread, they're working on it. However since a lot of our staff is on vacation for the holidays, it's slow going. Yesterday was the first day back in the office and I know they're still working on it today, we're on PST so it's still got some time today.

I'll post up here once the issue is resolved.

And as always, e-mail me with any direct questions that the above doesn't resolve. Ask anyone above, I get back to you within 24 hours and I follow up on any unresolved issues, even if the answer is "still waiting."

Stats should be showing now for the dates that were missing. Some of the data is still compiling so you may see slightly [upward] fluxuations in numbers over the next few hours.

If there's anything else, just e-mail me.

No new signups

Hello,

no new joins, even free, and no purchases indicated from 30-31/12 till now. Is it only my issue, or global ?

Thanks

Aren't you just the sweetest. Like before it's simply a data import issue not a tracking issue. Missing stats will be applied and sales and traffic have been tracked accurately.

Should be fixed. Might take a little time for the stats to finish populating and may not be complete until the dev push tomorrow, but that's the latest.

I had like 10 cancels in dec of 2016 and since I dont promote kinkydollars much nowadays, those were last long term subcribers. Seems to me a bit suspicous that all of them suddenly cancelled.

Still waiting for updates and stats to be fixed.
And you don't even bother alerting all affiliates about a major problem like this?

To my knowledge the stats issue has been fixed. Sorry for whatever reason GFY notifications weren't coming in. If your numbers still look wrong, e-mail me with screenshots or specific examples so I can take a deeper look or send it to tech for investigation.

And how would you like us to notify you? In Kinkydollars, in an e-mail, on here? Serious question, in the future let me know what you'd like us to do.

Also guys keep in mind it's XBiz / Internext / AVN's and I'm on the road for those, I'm doing the best I can. Carla our old affiliate manager is no longer with us and I'm taking over her duties for the forseeable future along with my own so please be patient. I'll get things fixed and get you paid, check with a few other people in this thread and the other one, I've found their money [often, more than they were expecting, which doesn't mean we were hiding it, we just had some errors and they're being fixed.] Kink has been around forever and we're not about to start fucking over affiliates now.

Just spoke to tech, they're targeting 1/16 as the payment date if all goes well. Will post an update if I hear more or if there will be any further delay.

Thank you for your patience.

There was a good ticket system at kinkydollars.kayako.com
Why not use something like this?

Thanks, Jesse

Trust me, I'm on them about this. The longer it's unresolved the more headaches for you AND me.

I'll check out our options with it and see if / why it's not being used anymore.

Email, and on kinkydollars would be good.

Jesse I will email you tomorrow with details, but today I am seeing in-house "purchase" transactions being credited at the 30% level that's supposed to be for partner content.

Thanks for posting your email. I'm not like the hugest affiliate or anything, but taking care of people like me does add up.

After sending Kink tens of thousands of dollars worth of sales, I found it very challenging to locate an email for someone who could help when I ran into a program issue.

I'll email for reply after show recovery.

My pleasure, I should be getting back to everyone today if not tomorrow. As many of you heard there's been a restructuring and a lot of changes going on at Kink, on top of that Carla, our old affiliate manager, left us for an amazing opportunity so I am picking up the slack there along with Nikki our partner manager, until we find a replacement.

I know the importance of affiliates big and small, so I appreciate you giving us time and your patience while we work it all out.

If kinkysense is closed how you explain that that traffic still goes there and it reflects in beta kinkydollars stats? Should I remove all kinkysense banners from my sites?

Hey guys, we're aware of an issue where rebills are showing $0 for some of them and some inverted payments for shoot purchases from kink / partner content. Should have more info on that today or tomorrow.

For anything else, you can contact me by e-mail, which is in this thread a million times.

Yes you should. They set the precedent for that many years ago when they silently closed their KinkLive chat program and redirected all the Kinklive affiliate traffic to their replacement Flirt4Free whitelabel without any kind of notice or credit for the traffic.

In 2017 you've got to close your own traffic leaks. Programs in general no longer seem willing to (a) avoid creating them or (b) fix them when they unavoidably happen.

Sadly Dan is not wrong for the most part. That being said, all of that happened prior to me joining the team here and I'm working an uphill battle [as is the rest of the team here] to fix the issues that happened with the transition from NATS to the new Beta platform, and keep in communication with the affiliates and fix the issues ASAP.

Despite the misquotes in the press lately and the general bad vibes over the past few months, Kink isn't going anywhere, we're still committed to affiliates and growing the brand. We've got some great new things on the horizon that will make things better than ever. But I could spout marketing rhetoric all day, but at the end of the day actions speak louder. I may not be perfect but I've been following up with every single one of you, finding money owed [if any] and fixing any bugs you bring to my attention.

As far as Kinkysense goes, that's a dead horse, long since dead. Moving forward, any large scale changes we'll communicate better, I'm working on a new newsletter system and better posting in the admin news section. As a heads up, we will be moving to a new Kink 3D platform soon so if you are promoting Kink 3D [not VR] e-mail me and I will fill you in on anything you need to know.

Cheers.

Oh, my, yes. You're doing a great job at staying in touch and fighting fires on the most vital (which is to say, money) problems. It makes a world of difference having somebody who answers emails and can show progress!

That said, there's a sense in which we will inevitably be talking past each other on these threads because of the different time scales we are working at. I've been a Cybernet/Kink affiliate for fifteen long years. Outlived all the affiliate managers. I'm the one that sold the kinkydollars.com domain to you guys. The only person in your organization (that I know of) who has been there longer than me is Peter himself. Peter is the one consistent thing. The buck stops with him. The last affiliate manager invoked his name and directives as the reason affiliate issues were not then being resolved, and when she did, Peter wasn't answering affiliate emails (at least not mine). So when I'm being frank (and I always try to be fair as well) about Kink.com as an organization and what it's like to do affiliate business with, I'm talking about what it's like to do business with Peter over the long haul.

And that, quite frankly, has gone downhill. For reasons. Some of which are understandable and easy to see even from the outside. But it's still true.

It was great doing business with Peter in the early days when everybody was making money and he was buying the most awesome piece of real estate in San Francisco.

It got less great after the economic crunch when "people not having money to spend" overlapped with "people stopped buying porn". By 2012 there were indications that Peter was worrying really hard about how to leverage his real estate outside of porn, and thinking less hard about how to make more (and more awesome) porn. (I could provide citations.) Somewhere in there we started seeing periods (in between the excellent affiliate managers that Peter was still hiring when he could find them) where affiliate concerns started dropping through the cracks. The business would lurch in a new direction, the links would break, and there wouldn't be any notice, much less any effort put into shielding affiliates from the worst effects of the lurch.

Then the quality of the affiliate managers started to slip. Carla was the worst ever; she literally refused to respond to any substantive problems with anything except snippets of soothing bullshit. It became clear there was nobody up higher who had affiliate issues on the radar. Before you started getting involved in the problems, I had exhausted every channel of communication, without useful response.

Meanwhile from press reports it now appears that leveraging the fancy real estate has finally become Peter's primary business focus. That's probably a pure business necessity; depending on how he has things financed, failing to do that in the current porn-selling environment might easily be a business-killer.

Peter's been juggling lit sticks of financial dynamite for almost a decade now, and the crowd keeps tossing him new ones. It's no surprise that his attention has sometimes wandered away from "take good care of the affiliates" -- we're a declining fraction of a declining part of his business. I have no criticism of that, but it's a reality that affiliates have to be aware of. If his attention has wandered back toward us -- which, Jesse, your current hard work and promise of commitment to affiliates suggests may be the case -- Peter's track record still indicates his attention may wander away again, perhaps the next time there's a tectonic shift in the San Francisco real estate and business climates. Those are the long time scales I'm talking about when I say that affiliates have to protect themselves from the way Kink.com handles affiliate traffic during shifts in their business. It wasn't a criticism of anybody currently on the team except Peter himself, and possibly not even one of him. It's just my honest evaluation of how the Kink.com organization responds to business challenges, and how it prioritizes affiliate concerns during those challenges.

I hope so! It remains concerning, though, how the company keeps talking to the press about plans for the armory and the departure of porn production, but the company hasn't got very much to say about where that production is going or how it will be organized. I'm quite concerned that we've got a lot more "recycle the old shoot and pretend it's a new one" to look forward to, combined with what is starting to look like a shift in focus to third-party studio content, perhaps very similar in appearance at first due to talent spinning off. If Kink.com plans to stay in the business of making porn (as opposed to distributing legacy porn and third-party porn and "growing the brand" with third-party content) those plans aren't very visible. Is there anything you can say in public about them? Because that would be reassuring.

That's all good news. As a "best practices" suggestion, any change that requires affiliates to change links to avoid painful traffic leakage should be announced in a separate email that includes a phrase like "LINK CHANGES NECESSARY" in the subject line. (This is almost never done because it tends to call unwelcome attention to whatever business change just happened -- but it's a bare minimum if affiliate care is truly the priority.)

Thanks again, Jesse, for all that you've been doing!

Hey all, for any affiliates seeing a rebill with $0.00 attached to it, this seems to be resolved [internally] and is scheduled for the prod push tomorrow which is when you'll see it on the Beta platform. Additionally the inverted payout percentages for shoot sales should be fixed already, let me know if you still see any that aren't corrected.

If for some reason it doesn't pass QA, the latest it will be out is Thursday.

Its sad how you guys have amazing , great content for BDSM / FemDom like categories.

But treat webmasters like "who gives a sht....we'll get around to it whenever...maybe a few more months..or whenever we feel like".

that's generally the vibe.

I don't even know WHAT site (code?) works for affiliates now and what doesn't....everythings like up in the air.

First off thank's for the compliment on the content.

Second, I don't quite think that's true, although I'm sure it may have come off that way. Affiliates are an integral part of our [and any] paysite's business, you represent a large chunk of sales and traffic and the relationship is largely symbiotic to a point. There has been a fair amount of role changing and turnover at Kink in the past, coupled with changing platforms [NATS to our Beta system] and models [individual sites to one unified pass.] At times there haven't been appropriate systems in place to ensure a smooth transition on all parts.

However, that's done and in the past and part of my job here at kink is to test and consider all segments of traffic when making changes, affiliates, SEO, mailing, partners, and so on. Clearly I've been in this thread a lot and I've also taken on the responsibility of general affiliate management while we look for a new affiliate manager and I'm committed to fixing the problems and getting you [affiliates] more support.

Finally, BOTH systems still work. Both [outside of some occasional display, not tracking bugs] still work and track correctly. You can use aff.kinkydollars.com or beta.kinkydollars.com to promote our sites, all the tools should still work and if they don't, hit me up and I'll get someone on it ASAP.

As a reminder, the rebill with $0.00 and the inverted shoot sales percentages should be fixed today assuming they pass QA. The displayed amounts for shoot percentages may take a few more days to fix as they have to work on a script to go back and correct them.

If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to e-mail first, before posting here.
