The BBC's director general Tony Hall said the device should help tackle the fact children were leaving school knowing how to use computers but not how to program them.
Why don't they learn computer programming in schools? In my country kids were learning programming languages since the middle of 80's. Usually BASIC or Pascal (Delphi nowadays).

Pascal for a school:

Its a shame its not the old BBC Basic, then I can play my old BBC games with it.

I had a BBC B computer.

By the way they had BBC computers in the USA because they have them on Supergirl (I got excited seeing BBC computers on that film).

I had a few clones of ZX-Spectrum (48K, 128K, 256K) The latest one was Scorpion ZS-256, which was able to work as a fully ZX-Spectrum compatible computer and as CP/M-compatible one.

no child left behind... the schools pull everyone down to the lowest level so no child is left out
