Iv been to Egypt Resorts and been in Cairo. Its life time of experience. Security is pretty tight in there. Before you check into hotel , they scan your bag for explosives like in airport

Religion may not be better, but people are better. Do you hear of Christians shouting "death to the infidels"? Do you hear Christians claiming everybody must convert to Christianity or else.... ?

I look at religion in a more philosophical way: For example I consider myself a Catholic, but I do not believe in God. I look at religion the way that it simply (for the most part) teaches people good principles in life, values etc. Back in the day (dark dark ages) they could fool people into thinking that God exists and it may have even been necessary. And they can not rewrite religion into something without God and leave just those good principles. So I look at it as a token from the past

Additional though: "god" helps some people during tough times, it is good or even necessary for some weaker people to grab to that, I mean think that something is out there which gives them hope that something is looking out for the etc. So many of the people who "believe" in God may rationally understand that it does not exist, but they choose to "believe" in it as it may help them during tough times etc etc.

there are millions and millions and millions of people throughout history that prove you wrong. people have changed their lives for the better, had hope until things got better, used their faith to better their family, friends, community, strangers and elsewheres, all due to their religion.
