My bank called me because they though my PayPal transaction was fraud

I sent someone $1000 through PayPal, and my bank phoned me to let me know they think it might be fraud. I told her it was me who did the transaction, and she said she was just checking because they've noticed a lot of fraudulent transactions done through PayPal.

PayPal must be a haven for fraudsters.

OR maybe its just something banks do when an unusual transaction goes through.. my bank does it all the time.

I wouldn't complain, they are just protecting YOUR money.
Don't listen to mutt, those people that have problems with paypal are because they do "shaky at best" deals and thats why their accounts get flagged. Pay Pal is a good service to those that dont cheat.

I'm not complaining, I was just surprised that my bank has flagged all PayPal transactions as potentially fraudulent.

I agree. I have had my account for about 1 1/2 years now and have only had 1 problem. they froze the account because i logged in with a proxie.. guess why? cause i was banned here and i had to send a paypal and the only way i can browse GFY is with a proxie, so i forgot to take out the proxie before i logged in and paypal banned my ass too! LOL

I wasnt mad though cause it was for my protection.. In over 200 transcations with paypal, i am pleased with everything so far.

It wasn't PayPal that called me, it was my bank.

My bank has flagged all PayPal transactions as potentially fraudulent because they've noticed a high rate of fraud in the past with PayPal.
