Termninating your own cat6a cables. Do you?

Question to anyone here who does there own runs in their homes to future proof with 10gbs copper or fiber. Which cable do you use? Brand, category, utp, stp, fstp etc. what male rj45's do you use to accomodate the thicker guauge wire/thicker jacket. What sheilded keystones and patch panels do you use? Do you worry about the drain wire or do you just snip it. I'm interested to hear what the gfy diy'ers do, even hosting companies. Also, what are your thoughts on 10gbs switches and lan cards over copper? That's pointless until hard drive speed catches up anyway, no?
I'd love to here the scoop from the neck beards.
Thanks
Duke

It was $350 for a 1000 ft of cable, $125 for a magna pull, a few drill bits and fish tape. time is the only major investment and I enjoy this kind of stuff.

But look af how long cat 5e has been the builders standard and still is unless you specifically want an upgrade. So this is buying me 15 years minimum.

Thats what i mean, buy stuff that is actual, good quality and common today and not what maybe could be used in the future.

10gbps is more than enough to last you for the next 15 years at least. Enterprise infrastructure (offices) doesn't even have 10gbps to workstations. It's fine for your house unless you're going to run fiber.

If you're renovating your apartment, maybe it would be wise to put flextube in the walls so you can use any cable you want in future.
