How likely are Bernie Supporters to vote for TRUMP instead of Hillary?

If Bernie doesn't get the Dem nom, what % of his supporters do you think would vote for TRUMP instead of Hillary?

I think the % would be very surprising.

People are angry. People are upset that both parties have lied to them, used them, and then ignored them once they're in office.

There's a massive difference between moderate socialism and hardcore capitalism, who votes for Bernie are citizens in the most under the age of 28, the majority of them in the case it ends up Trump-Clinton wont even show up at the voting polls.

I'll guess that 14% of Sanders supporters would vote for Trump if Sanders doesn't get the nomination.

I would think the number would be pretty tiny. There might be a few who really hate Hillary that would embrace the madness and vote for Trump, but I would be shocked if it were more than just a handful. Most of them will either vote for Hillary or not at all.

Yes, we hear this every four years. The general population is mad at the people in office. We demand change. Then we get change. And it's business as usual.

It's the same rally cry. "Vote for Change".

Trump the other day told us about how he was going to fix the VA. He is going to appoint a new administrator to clean up waste and fraud, and save us money, and fix all of the problems. Sure sure. What he really means is he Trump would sit in on a few meetings, pick names from a list, maybe meet some of them, pick someone to lead, and then pray it doesn't come back to bite him in the ass. Clinton, Cruz, Sanders... Would do the exact same. That is how government works.

I suspect a lot of them would stay home instead of voting for Hillary.

I think that many people voting against Hillary are doing just that, they are voting against her, not for anybody in particular. Bernie Sanders has a lot of anti-establishment support, and so does Trump. Their politics are not similar, but both are seen as "outsiders" to the hated machine right now, so it wouldn't surprise me if more than a few Bernie supporters vote for Trump even if they hate him personally, I think they hate the establishment more and he's done a fair job of distancing himself from it.

I think they will stay home in droves. Hillary is now well liked at all.

I mean...she is struggling against Sanders. No offense to the man, but a strong candidate would have had no trouble cruising to victory over a 74 year old Jewish socialist. The demographics for him should be horrible.

But she is such a unlikeable figure and lies so much about everything...

Bernie loses, Im voting for Trump. If its Cruz, Im sitting home. I really think Trump is playing the base and if elected would be very middle of the road. The man is giving them the red meat they want to hear.

I really hate Hillary, but you're right. If Bernie isn't in, I'd rather not waste my time at the polls.

I really have to question these polls. I like Sanders myself...but I just can't fathom that in a general election he would have any chance at all. The demographics are just not there.

But yeah, I've seen those polls.

My feeling is he would lose as badly as George McGovern did. But...having said that, there IS a political revolution going on in both parties. So never say never. We could have a Socialist President in 2017.

Has to be better than what we've been getting the last few decades.

Zero percent would vote for Trump. While a good % would vote for Hillary because anyone would be better than Trump! Don't try and kid yourself into thinking that they would stay home and not vote!

I think you are kidding yourself if you don't think they won't stay home. That has happened over and over in elections.

Just look at the 2012 election. Republicans stayed home and didn't vote for Romney.

The 1988 election...Dems stayed home and didn't vote for Michael Dukakis.

The tumultuous 1968 election in which the Democrat Party fractured and Dems stayed home by the millions to not vote for Humphrey...or even worse in 1972 when McGovern kept Democrats sitting at home.

Political history says you are mistaken about that.

I dont understand all this "stay home" shit.

I've stayed home for the past 3 elections. Absentee voting works. You dont have to actually "go to the polls".

There really is no excuse to not vote. If you dont like one of the main candidates, vote for a third party, maybe they will get 5% of the popular vote and get federal funding for their campaign in 2020. At least then your vote counts for something.

Sometimes not voting sends a big message too. At least that's the reasoning I've heard given when a large part of the voters don't show up to the polls.

It's one of the reasons that this year is so historic. For the first time in a LONG time...people are excited about voting.
And the establishment and the media are doing everything they can to tamp it down.

For instance, the millions of people voting for the first time for Trump are now being "shamed" by the media and, as you can read on GFY, wannabe elitist fake liberals.
They get called "stupid", "racist", "ignorant", etc.

The people in power now (the establishment) do NOT want to lose their power.

You don't have to believe me. Just consider that top Republican establishment "leaders" have already said they would vote for Hillary instead of Trump.

That's because they know that Hillary keeps things just the way they are. It's a telling statement.

I am just amazed at how many African-Americans I know (under 35 years old) ABSOLUTELY HATE Hillary.

Sistah Souljah's statement about her is not outlier... that's for sure.

Most will just hold their breath, pinch their nose to avoid the stink and vote ''The Wicked Witch of the West''.

''Trump the Troll'' will be someone to vote against -- disaffected ''Bernie Boosters'' will try again in 2020 after Hillary makes a mess

I don't think Dems are all that angry. Obama care, booming economy, out of most of the war stuff. Our guy sort of did what he said he would on the big stuff. Sure I would have liked to see some bankers go to jail but overall Obama has been more then ok from a Democrat stand point. I think that is why Hilary is polling so well nation wide.

It comes down to either a vote for the lesser evil or a vote of conscience.

Withholding your vote or voting for someone you know cannot win do little good but are do no wrong (escapist or plain disgusted) votes also. Only 70% or less of eligible voters vote -- so you have plenty of company.

That would depend on why they like Bernie. If it's because they're opposed to NAFTA type trade treaties like TPP, they'll definitely vote Trump.

Folks, many of you are intelligent people. I'm at a loss to understand how you can't see the answer to this query.

Let's ask some questions first:

1. Do you believe the media is biased towards the democrats? If you say yes, keep going. If you say no, you are too much of an idiot to try to reason with. Go play with blocks. How are you even reading this?

2. Do you believe that if Trump does not win the nomination, the media will turn on the republican nominee the second Trump is out of the picture? If you say yes, keep going. If you say no, you are too much of an idiot even to reason with.

3. Do you believe Senator Sanders will bow to the wishes of the party and make nice with Clinton if he loses the nomination? If you say yes, keep going. If you say no, you are too much of an idiot even to reason with.

When Clinton closes the nomination, she will have a honeymoon. Obama is behind her. She will not be indicted and the media will suddenly turn on the "first woman president" cascade. She will have her time in the sun. She and Sanders will tour and speak together. She will be seen with many a Hollywood star, and many an African American influencer. Senator Sanders is not an idiot. Neither is Clinton. She will pivot to the middle but continue to reverently bring up the aged Senator Sanders and the importance of His Issues. No mention will be made of his socialism.

In contrast the republicans will get to the end of a truly amazing mudslinging cage match and enter an even bigger pile of shit, their convention. They will have insulted, sued, libeled and defamed each other. No one will get the 1237. The convention will be filled with rancor, disruption, and chaos. There will be hidden back room deals and open threats. A victor will emerge, but he will have made mortal enemies of at least a 3rd of the base.

In delegate math the democrats have a serious advantage. Maybe Trump, with his genius for disruption, could break this, and I only say that because he has outwitted everyone so far. I doubt it though.

Polls change. Sanders voters, those mutable little folks brought up on sugar cereal commercials, will do what the pretty box tells them to do. High flying Hillary Clinton, First Woman President, against the Ultimate Evil Trump or a forgettable evil clone.

Sanders voters will turn out for her.

good thoughts. agree with most. i myself think the FBI stuff will eventually effect the election, even without an indictment. the stuff leaking out is really serious shit, far more serious than the media has made it. i wonder if the democrat convention could become chaotic if the superdelegates are made uncomfortable about the results of the FBI investigation. Why? because establishment democrats dont know sanders very well. he is as much an outsider to dems as trump is to the GOP. They might vote in biden or something. who knows? the FBI is a wildcard. Hilary should not even be running with this over her head, but she is & the party is letting her so if the whole democrat boat sinks it will be karma for backing hillary.

While Hillary Clinton fights for the Democratic presidential nomination, law enforcement officials tell Al Jazeera America the Federal Investigation into her personal email system while she was Secretary of State has reached a critical stage.

The FBI, led by Director James Comey, has now finished examining Clinton’s private emails and home server. And the sources add that Comey’s FBI team has been joined by the Justice Department prosecutors. Together, they are now examining the evidence, analyzing relevant laws, and attempting to arrange interviews with key figures in the investigation.

Those interviews, according to attorneys, will include former State Department aides Philippe Reines, Former Clinton Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, and Clinton herself.

Soon after those interviews — in the next few days and weeks — officials expect Director Comey to make his recommendation to Attorney General Loretta Lynch about potential criminal charges.

It's not about being lazy, but not voting because you don't support the candidate. Why vote for someone else you don't like as a second option? It's silly..

I have always said if people want a third party to challenge the two that control everything and produce candidates they don't like they should not stay home and not vote out of protest, they should vote for a third party candidate. If enough people did that it would help build a third party and there might be more options out there.

Not voting because you don't like any of the candidates is worthless. All it does is allow the big two parties to stay in power and not really change. It also allows fewer and fewer people to control the direction of the country.

This is down to the voters. Voting for a President who promises change was tried with Obama, then for whatever reason the democrats lost a lot of seats in the two houses. Where his policies for change were blocked over and over again. Sometimes even by Democrats.

If Americans want change they have to keep voting for the politicians who deliver it, throw out the old guard over and over again. Whatever side of the Houses they sit on.

How many brand new politicians were elected last time around?

Stop voting for the people who have no interest in change.

But she is such a unlikeable figure and lies so much about everything...
Imagine a version of Trump that makes sense and without all the bullshit he spews?

Maybe as many as 80% of Americans are worse off now than they would have been 40 years. But with continual erosion of their jobs they're now poorer by a long way.

LBJ continued an unwinnable War
Nixon opened the door for Jobs to flow to China
Reagan used reserves to hide the problems
Bush went to war, spent trillions on another unwinnable war and created the problems today in the ME.
Obama needs to realise there is no "After the war" scenario with Muslims. They worship death.

This is just China. Add the other Third World countries that have American jobs and the reasons for problems America has today are understood.

The people Americans voted for, made this happen. So how has it affected their income?

Look at the facts and add inflation. Will you pay double for goods to be made in the US by an American? How much would an all-American iPhone cost?

Because if Trump delivers on his promises, you will feel it in your pocket.
