Apple has told Republican leaders it will not provide funding or other support for the party?s 2016 presidential convention, as it's done in the past, citing Donald Trump?s controversial comments about women, immigrants and minorities.
Unlike Facebook, Google and Microsoft, which have all said they will provide some support to the GOP event in Cleveland next month, Apple decided against donating technology or cash to the effort, according to two sources familiar with the iPhone maker?s plans. This has nothing to do with women, immigrants and minorities. More likely they are worried he will win and they will need to manufacture in the US or pay some form of a premium.

What i wanna know is why corporate America is even allowed to sponsor party convention we need serious campaign finance reform in this country
We should start by executing Lobbyists and hell while we are slinging bullets may as well go ahead and execute congress at the same time. seems everyone has lobbyists except the people actually paying the bills

Did you ever consider that Apple would have more to lose than to gain if Trump is elected?
The Board of Apple says no to Trump <case closed> That is the way corporations work. If the irony in this passes you by -- you have never been exposed to a high level corporate hierarchy. Last laugh is on Trump. His own kind have told the GOP to fuck off. |

apple has congruent interests in this matter...business, & social/marketing. the OP is focusing on the social/marketing, & business minded people focus on the business angle. as one of the most politically engaged corporations, its position is logical & natural. you all got it right.  |

i do want to note however, we who enjoy communicating about porn, or distribute it, we have more to worry about from political correctness on the left than christians in the GOP in the dept of justice.
the fact that silicon valley is uber-PC, & shows willingness to integrate that PC into business practices, puts a big fat impediment to the ability to communicate to the masses the way people do about their stupid puppy tricks. should this activism start to show up in terms of ISPs declining to carry traffic based on content, porn speech could end up limited to the dark web, with no legal recourse given these entities are private & the FCC, regardless of party, will never ever do anything to force utilities to carry the 1st amendment on behalf of smut. so if your a libby & love porn, your basically a self hating jew. your ideology & its anti-speech agenda is the biggest threat to my beloved industry. |
