Why bitcoin isn't preferred payment method for adult paysites?

Why bitcoin doesnt prefer on adult paysites?
Why consumers are only looking for credit card payments?

Is it hard to make a purchase by using bitcoin method?

The masses do not know it. alt-coins have little top-of-mind branding.

alt-coins are a FAIL in the mass market as a transactional instrument.

Alt-coins are the ultimate "fiat currency" they have no value storage for normal people.

Meantime Bitcoin may go up now ... until it goes down again ...

Because the only people using bitcoin tend to be no-life geeks that spend 24hrs a day on the Internet.

Because 9 out of 10 people have no idea what that is (maybe they heard something somewhere at best).
And out of the rest 10% maybe 1/100 knows how to actually use this.

And volatility as additional reason.

Basically most ( including me) know what it is BUT do not know how to use it and thus do not trust it. It would take an entrepreneur likes of ( Gates,Bezos etc...) to take it to the masses and they would as long as they could figure out how to cleave a bit of commission from each transaction.....

bitcoin is expensive,

porn is free.

If you can figure out how to buy bitcoin, You know how to search bing/videos and spankbang to find your full length video for free.

Understanding Bitcoin takes a bit of work. Acquiring funds takes even more work. Unless the customer is after something questionable or completely illegal it's unlikely they would go to all that trouble just to pay for a membership... much easier to find free pr0ns.

lots of dumbness in here

but also most of the bitcoin haters give unintentional compliments to bitcoin, about how it's shit and useless, worthless etc.

... $15billion market cap, for what the haters call "shitty monopoly money" etc, that's pretty damn good, imagine the potential

$15bill market cap for something "nobody knows/uses" is pretty badass, imagine how much that'd be if people DID KNOW about it

Bitcoin is currently too volatile and too obscure (regardless of its market cap - BTW how quickly do you think the price would crash if someone started dumping a whole lot?) to be practical for a typical consumer.

I'm not a Bitcoin hater. I've been involved with it for 6 years, and I want to see it succeed, but that's a long term thing. It's still a mystery to most people.

Great points rowan, but the dumping which caused crashes has happened many times, over and over. Losing faith in ones currency, that is always going to happen, same like Argentina, India, always the Chinese situations, even the moment Trump won the election it spiked and crashed shortly after. Doesnt take rocket scientist to know that decentralized currency is going to get a LOT of people on board

adultmobile has written a lot about the experience of adding bitcoin as a payment option to his sites (the ones he sold last year), def worth a read if you don't mind doing a bit of searching

I believe we were one of the first cam sites that accepted Bitcoin payments. I'm into the whole crypto currency thing. I even got into mining for Litecoins and Dogecoins at one point. Going off the top of my head I'd say it's just about only 1 to 2% that use it. But they're the customers who wouldn't have spent unless there was a Bitcoin option in most cases, so it's an added 1 to 2% in sales that we get due to the fact that we offer the option so it's worth it.

Out of the thousands of merchants that we have, not one has asked for us to integrate a bitcoin solution except for the first week it was discussed.

You forget to mention the back up that Visa and MC offer.

You can get your money back. ( This is good and bad )

But the protection the surfer feels using a " Digital Currency " Such as these cards.

Most people buy BTC to hold. The mis-information and ignorance about BTC is astounding on this board. Porn webmasters used to be cutting-edge, now, not so much.

So the only way to make purchases peer to peer is through a 3rd party?

So buying domains from a registrar, paying for hosting, buying websites, ordering food from restaurants, withdrawing cash (bitcoin ATM machines), etc, are you guys really digging yourselves in a hole that deep to avoid real life happening? lol, sad aint it?
