Felony Rioting: 10 years in jail. 250 people arrested in DC Friday to be charged.

Anti-Trump protesters will face up to 10 years in prison | Daily Mail Online

They probably thought they were going to get a ticket and a lecture from a judge and a little community service.

It's BS scare tactic, they can likely only prove a handful of people did anything, like say the kid in the picture. The cops rounded up anyone they thought were causing problems.

A couple of people will actually get charged, the rest will get off. The DOJ will likely try to force them into "plea bargains" to get a few convictions, which some will take because they are stupid or use a public defender. The bulk will be let go because it will be impossible to prove to a jury they did anything other than protested and were rounded up due to a few baddies actions and overzealous cops.

Sorry but they need proof of each person committing a crime not just because they were arrested at the wrong place and a cop said they were a baddie.. This is why they wear hoods, so witness testimonies do little to help in their convictions. It's a lot of hoopla intended to be spread to scare others from protesting..

Sure some of them deserve to be convicted, but most will be let go due to lack of evidence..

I believe in our right to protest, but when you protest you must do so properly. Get a permit, stay out the way, and don't piss people off. Shutting down a freeway, chaining yourself to a gate at a military base, or occupying a government official's office is not a proper way to protest.

I think anyone who took part in smashing windows or torching a limo should get a $250k fine and ten years in the slammer. It is just not acceptable.

Sorry, but I'm not buying a permit to protest.. Also, I do disagree with destruction of property but sometimes the power of a protest is blocking the streets.

FUCK THEM. Here's why. Forget about politics. Forget about whether Trump is a good president or not. Forget about whether you thought the election was fair, or rigged.

The basic reality is this:

1. Insurance companies do NOT pay out for damage caused to property in the event of civil unrest or rioting.
2. If you home, business, car etc is damaged or destroyed by rioters you will receive no payout from insurers.
3. You will then be forced either write off the loss, or put in a claim against the Police and the State. They might, or might not compensate you. You may end up having to take them to court = more expense, delay, stress, frustration.
4. If the Police / State pay out, then the money they have had to pay means either they have to increase taxes, or decrease services.

Therefore, anyone, ANYONE who goes rioting is a total and utter selfish CUNT and SHOULD be locked up for at least 10 fucking years PLUS be fined $25k each. Fucking SCUM.

Looting, rioting, and mass destruction need to be nipped in the bud. If allowed to continue unfettered, the level of violence will only escalate.

The ringleaders and those who committed the worst of the crimes should get the maximum penalty to illustrate to future would-be rioters that mayhem has consequences.

Several countries dictator states were over run, but sadly in the US nothing much happened.

Occupy Wallstreet was the spring board which launched the Arab Spring in the ME where the people in many countries overthrew their govts. In the US nothing happened..

Notice the world still looks to the US, when OW took place here it took place all across the world. These Trump protest are also taking place all across the world.

The more Trump acts the fool, the worse it will get. Come spring time I think we will be seeing a major round of protests.

Anarchist.. They are neither Democrat or Republican.. They planned to protest regardless of whoever won.. They did the same to Bush, Obama & now Trump..

Search the term J20 if you don't believe me.. Which of course you wont because this don't fit your narrative of "dirty liberals"..

Festival of Resistance: March Against Trump | #DisruptJ20

The group was founded around July 2016, about six months before Trump's inauguration.[2] "J20" stands for January 20, the day of the inauguration.[5] It was publicly launched on November 11, 2016 with a YouTube video and social media accounts.[6] On January 14, 2017, about a hundred demonstrators met at the American University to plan and prepare for their protests on inauguration day.
