Will a trump presidency be hurtful for the adult industry?

I’m curious to hear what your guys thoughts are. Age verification via uploading IDs is becoming pretty common across a lot of state legislature. I support verification to make sure 18+ content is behind walls to prevent minors from viewing it. It’s just I don’t want adult content to be outright banned like mentioned in project 2025 and other conservative think tanks

Trump made more money with porn than many on this forum.

Trump Hotels Buck Industry Trend, Continue To Offer Guests Porn
While many name-brand hotel chains have severed ties with the adult film industry, Trump hotels have not.

That was 2016... I wonder if his hotels still sell porn.

He is the closet the industry has had to one of their own in the WH.

He was a porn distributor. Cant deny that.

Yes, he's going to put pornographers in concentration camps with the gays, as soon as he's done murdering all the brown people. Don't you read social media?

Project 2025 is real

Many of you appear to be downplaying the existential threat that Trump 2.0 will pose to this industry. It may be time to rethink that perspective.

Trump didn't care about abortion one way or the other yet he managed to get Roe V Wade overturned. Trump doesn't care about porn, in fact one could make the argument Trump is pro-porn or at least pro-pornstar. What Trump truly cares about is ADORATION, and helping banish the porn industry (in America) will make him a CHAMPION amongst the religious right, that is his true fetish.

Project 2025 is very real, you don't go into that kind of organizational detail to outline your plan without the endorsement and commitment from the one person needed to execute such plan.

Not to say the sky is falling, but it could be time to fortify your umbrella.

You bring up some solid points. Given Musk’s stance on free speech and the presence of adult content on his platform, he would likely have influence on this issue. Right or Wrong, Musk's support for Trump was mainly rooted in concerns over censorship laws. Unless a major player in the adult industry slips up big time and gives politicians ammunition, I think we've seen the worst of it, and any remaining challenges will likely play out at the state level.

Our industry faces a much larger threat from Visa/MC/bank regulations than we do Trump or other politicians.

It all starts with politics, then moves to big business, and finally lands on the adult webmaster. Mastercard and Visa as companies dont care as long as it is legal; they are concerned about PR.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I just can't see how crypto could ever become a truly viable option. By its very nature, it's not well-suited for recurring payments. Sure, it might work for one-time transactions like cam services or something, but even in those cases, it's still likely to remain an extremely niche option.

Why wouldn´t it be a viable option?
USDT is 1 usd for years.
There will be subscription systems.

And maybe you can use the BRICs coin also.

If governments use/promote it, it could be widely be accepted.
Many affiliate programs have the options to payout in coins.
B2C transactions will grow.

Hypothetically, if Visa and Mastercard users suddenly had crypto as a spending option , how would recurring billing work? An "escrow" solution or a monthly reminder to renew subscriptions doesn’t seem a practical way to rebill. Realistically, a lot of adult websites thrive on impulse purchases, especially late at night, where users often forget or don’t bother to cancel active subscriptions afterwards. I could be wrong, but I think you would be talking about a fundamental change in the way the technology works to make this happen.

In Holland we had for long time not a simple recurring billing option.
Worked fine that people could simply with Ideal. (in Holland hardly anyone uses creditcard online).

For sure there are some ether contracts that make recurring billing possible.
I think most people don't pay cams with recurring billling.
And try to sell 1 year subscriptions.
