![]() "The Commission's investigations confirmed that the Chinese products had been sold in Europe at heavily dumped prices. To provide EU companies with necessary breathing space, the Commission imposed duties ranging between 65.1% and 73.7% for heavy plates and 13.2% and 22.6% for hot-rolled steel. This should restore the profitability of the European heavy plates' producers and prevent damage to the companies involved in the production of hot-rolled steel products."

Because it lowers imports, keeps jobs and more importantly maintains the EU's ability to produce metals. Or do you believe that after the Metal's Industries are gone Chine will keep prices low?

what Thatcher did with protesting coal miners in UK? Why she didnt keep up with their bullshit ?
if importing coal from Africa, Russia or Australia is cheaper than getting it locally, why overpay ? How UK economy landed on Thatcher's policies ? Was it good or bad for the society as a whole? |

The Thatcher years were good for the UK. So for society, it depends on where they live. For parts of Wales and the North, it was bad, the problem is they sit there waiting for jobs to come to them. While millions came to the UK to get jobs. That's the problem with the UK. A lot of people think the Government should take more care of them, without them paying for anything. The Government has no money, it only spends the people's money. European countries with a better level of social care, tax people a lot more. |

No. In the 21st Century. Where do you get Steel from if the enemy is China?
Fuel if the enemy is Russia. Oil if the enemy is Saudi? Food if the enemy is the US? You're too brainwashed to see the obvious. |

China isn't making trillions of cheap goods to be nice. It's making the stuff to be the World dominating power.
It has a 21st-century Armed Forces, Space Program, and technological capabilities. We're ignoring the growth of China like we ignored the growth of Germany 80 years ago. Hoping they would always be nice guys. Industries china dominates. |
