The father of a Navy SEAL killed during a mission that Donald Trump approved just a week into his administration blames the president for his son?s death.

William Owens told The Miami Herald that he refused to meet with Trump when the remains of son, William ?Ryan? Owens, were returned to Dover Air Force Base.

Owens questioned Trump?s motivation for signing off on a mission just six days into his presidency.

?Why at this time did there have to be this stupid mission when it wasn?t even barely a week into his administration? Why?? he asked. ?For two years prior, there were no boots on the ground in Yemen ? everything was missiles and drones ? because there was not a target worth one American life. Now, all of a sudden we had to make this grand display??

Although U.S. military officials told The New York Times that ?everything went wrong? during the mission, the Trump administration has called the operation a success. Administration officials have claimed that an investigation would tarnish the memory Owen?s son, but the father disagrees.

?Don?t hide behind my son?s death to prevent an investigation,? he remarked. ?I want an investigation. ? The government owes my son an investigation.?

There is no need for an investigation at all. We know exactly how and when he died; He died while serving his country. I am sure there is an after action report that gives the exact details. There is no reason to believe anything was done wrong here and it's pretty straight forward - They sent our military in to accomplish a task, and sometimes when our military goes to war we suffer casualties.

You could try to argue Trump was unqualified for unprepared and made a bad call, and while I believe both are true... At the end of the day for better or worse when our military gets the order they do their job, and sometimes people die.

EVERYTHING our govt. is doing in these "wars", that have never been legally declared by Congress, should be investigated.

The only thing I worry about is that Congress is such a sorry ass collection of public leeches living off the taxpayer teat...that they don't have the ability to multi-task.

I want to see real change happening in Washington. I want them to be able to investigate everything they can...that's part of their job is oversight.
And at the same time I want them to get their ass moving on a replacement for ObamaCare that will work.
And on tax reform (finally)
And immigration reform that makes it easier for qualified people to gain citizenship instead of taking decades to do it.

I don't have much faith in Congress though.

No it wasn't. Yes they wanted a moonlight night, but it was also on hold by Obama due to wanting more intel. There was not a go ahead from Obama on the next moon lit night it was on hold due to lack of intel.

Obama may or may not have run the operation on the next moon lit night, but it's certainly wasn't given the prior go ahead.
